Next-generation Intel C232 and C236 chipset-based servers and server boards ready for the latest Intel Xeon E3-1200 v5 processors, ideal for datacenters and enterprise

ASUS today announced its next-generation E9-series servers and P10S-series server boards ready for the new Intel® Xeon® E3-1200 v5 (‘Skylake’) processors and engineered for high-performance I/O, with support for ASUS Proprietary I/O Kit Expansion (PIKE) II for up to 12Gbit/s SAS performance, up to quad-LAN technology for high-bandwidth networking and advanced virtualization, and support for a diverse range of expansion cards — positioning E9 and P10S as the perfect choice for demanding datacenter, enterprise and cloud-computing environments.

Based on the new Intel C230-series (‘Greenlow’) chipset, E9 servers and P10S server boards also deliver supreme efficiency, with ASUS Digi+ voltage-regulator module (VRM) with an all-new DRAM controller for ultra-precise memory tuning, high-conductivity Beat Thermal Chokes III, and ultra-durable 12K solid capacitors — all contributing to up to 95% voltage-regulator (VR) efficiency.

The new servers and server boards also offer superior storage flexibility and access to the latest drive technologies, with dual NVM Express™ (NVMe) M.2 sockets on board, up to 32Gbit/s data-transfer speeds and support for SATA RAID configurations.

ASUS P10S: Server boards for every application, from entry level to premium server applications

ASUS P10S are trusted server boards engineered to deliver supreme efficiency for all applications, and in all environments — and with a comprehensive range to suit all requirements and budgets. Models include the ATX P10S-E/4L, P10S-C/4L, P10S-V/4L and P10S-X, the micro-ATX (mATX) P10S-M and P10S-M-DC, and P10S-I in mini-ITX (mITX).

P10S-E/4L, P10S-C/4L and P10S-V/4L are all engineered with quad-LAN technology, enabling up to 4Gbit/s networking bandwidth. This high capacity reduces data-processing bottlenecks and maximizes fault tolerance: with four separate Ethernet sockets these new P10S server boards also have superb failover capability, with multiple redundancy built in. P10S-E/4L, P10S-C/4L, P10S-V/4L and P10S-X all include both PCI Express® (PCIe®) and legacy PCI, ensuring support for a diverse range of applications.

P10S-M-DC is built for extreme power efficiency, making it perfect for datacenter applications. The efficiency begins with ASUS Digi+ VRM, the renowned voltage-regulator module that’s up to 95% efficient under full loading, and reduced power consumption by up to 33.5% — delivering significant cost savings in terms of both energy supply and cooling requirements. P10S-M-DC also has dual M.2 booting, for extreme performance and data redundancy. Arranging two M.2 devices in RAID 0 configuration boosts the speeds of read operations by up to 84% and write performance by up to 40% compared to single-device setups. Or, for data redundancy for operating-system drives, P10S-M-DC’s dual M.2 connectors can be arranged in a RAID 1 configuration.

P10S-M is the micro-ATX (mATX) server board with expandable I/O support. Based on the Intel C232 chipset, P10S-M provides dual server-class Intel Ethernet networking, six SATA 6Gbit/s connectors, and four PCI Express 3.0 expansion slots for maximum expandability. The company 9.6-inch x 9.6-inch mATX design is easily integrated in short-depth cases — greatly increasing rack-compute density.

P10S-I is the latest mITX server board from ASUS, with revised memory placement that’s optimized for rack mounting. P10S-I is has up to six available SATA ports, plus support for 2242 (42mm) PCIe x4 NVMe M.2 storage devices.

ASUS E9: High-efficiency, highly expandable servers ideal for datacenter environments

ASUS E9 servers offer high efficiency and high expandability, making them ideal investments for datacenter environments and high-load applications that demand easy scalability.

RS300-E9 is our flagship 1U server series offering versatile expandability, with two PCIe expansion slots, integrated Intel quad-LAN technology for up to up to 4Gbit/s networking bandwidth, plus support for the optional ASUS PIKE II expansion card — enabling up to 12Gbit/s SAS devices.

RS200-E9-PS2-F is built for fast, easy access and maintenance, with core I/O ports at the front — enabling users to easily access the I/O ports from the front panel. This design is ideal for datacenter or rack-mount cabinets with hot/cold aisle separation. RS200-E9-PS2 features a complementary design that puts the easy-access I/O at the rear.

RS100-E9-PI2 offers Zen-like quietness, operating at noise levels as low as 26dB — or barely louder than a whisper. It also features the ASUS Magic Capacity configuration with multiple options for operating-system-drive placement, including dual M.2 slots supporting up to two 2280 (80mm) 512GB drives, and both USB and SATA disk-on-module (DOM). RS100-E9-PI2 also has the option of two 3.5-inch drive bays or one 3.5-inch bay plus four 2.5-inch bays.

TS100-E9-PI4 is the best choice for small office/home office (SOHO) settings, offering the same Zen-like 26dB quietness as RS100-E9-PI2 and with an industry-leading line-up of two PCIe 3.0 slots (one x16 and one x8), four PCI slots and one ASUS MIO slot — enabling support for the ASUS MIO professional audio card.

Enhanced remote management: Out-of-band ASMB8 2.0 and in-band ASWM Enterprise

The optional IPMI 2.0-compliant ASMB8-iKVM module for P10S server boards and E9 servers enables remote BIOS updates, backup and restore configurations, SNMP agent support (MIB files), audit log, and BIOS POST codes. With out-of-band management ASMB8-iKVM provides round-the-clock remote monitoring and diagnosis even if the server operating system is down or offline — and all through a user-friendly web-based graphical interface that works with all major browsers.

In addition, ASUS System Web-based Management (ASWM) Enterprise software provides one-to-multiple centralized management, including BIOS flashing, software dispatch, task scheduling, remote control and power control, via colorful and informative graphical interface.
