Setting up ASUS Miracast Dongle is easy. Simply plug your ASUS Miracast Dongle to a power source and attach it to your display’s HDMI port. Power up your tablet or mobile device, log onto your Wi-Fi network and follow the onscreen instructions.
Set Up Steps
For Android devices:
Attach ASUS Miracast Dongle to a power source and attach it to your display’s HDMI port
Log onto your Wi-Fi network and search for your device’s media streaming options
Find the Dongle to establish a connection
For Windows 8.1 devices:
Click “Device” on the Windows Charms sidebar
Select “Project” in the “Devices” menu
Select your display and enter your WPS PIN to connect
For WiDi 3.5+ devices
Open the Intel WiDi app and scan for available adapters.
Find the display that has the Miracast dongle attached
Type in the WPS PIN, which will be shown on your external display.
Updating your Miracast dongle’s firmware
- For users with ASUS branded tablets automatic OTA (over-the-air) updates are available.
- For a manual firmware update for any device follow these simple steps:
A. Download the latest firmware from the ASUS support site.
B. Press and hold the reset button for 5 seconds to engage the soft AP mode. A red light will show once this mode is engaged.
C. Connect the dongle to your laptop or PC using the SSID shown on the Miracast display.
D. Open the internet browser on your laptop and connect to http://192.168.8.1
E. Click ‘Browse’ to select the downloaded firmware file (.sbin) then click ‘Upload’.
