The ASUS VivoTab Smart lacks some of the awesome bits of the other VivoTabs; it's not as solidly built, nor is the screen at Full HD. But the Smart does have its own, well, smarts, particularly in its good performances and its capability of running a full-fledge Windows 8. If you're looking for a simple Windows 8 tablet, this is the smarter choice.

The Taichi, like most Ultrabooks in the market, comes as a well-designed package, featuring a dark gray paintjob all around – except the lid, where the touch display is at. Because of that, the lid (or second display) is encased with everyone's favourite – Corning Gorilla Glass. This, incidentally, also makes the Taichi's exterior a bit of a smudge magnet, and one wonders if there will be screen protectors for the Taichi (I'm a matte person – easier on the fingers). Opening the lid reveals the usual Ultrabook arrangement, with well-spaced chiclet keys that are also backlit, making late-night work sessions easier on the eyes.

Nexus 7, the first tablet in the Google Nexus series produced and developed in collaboration with ASUS landed to local shelves only after a two months delay after the official launch in the States back on July 2012. The launch of Nexus 7 was not as smooth sailing as one would expect it to be. Local enthusiasts were firstly disappointed with the shipment delay. Then the announcement of the official pricing was not well received due to the price difference compared to the States. However, we are not here to dwell into the availability as well as pricing issues. We are more interested in the design and technology behind the product itself. Although Nexus 7 has been in the market for a while and there's plenty of reviews out there as reference, we are still keen to have our hands on it. After all, we are Tech Enthusiasts who just could not resist and review offerings. Before we move on, do take note that we are reviewing the Nexus 7 ME370T, which is the WiFi version without 3G.

All up, the ASUS DSL-N55U N600 is a great little router that excels in storage support and data sharing, and it can be purchased for under $160, which we think makes it good value. Its wireless performance was relatively swift and very reliable and the router overall never gave us problems once it was properly set up. This is important because the latest firmware is needed in order to make use of the USB applications such as AiCloud, Download Master and Media Server. The default firmware for this router only came with Download Master and it was not until we updated that we were able to use the Media Server and AiCloud features. The only other issue is that installing AiCloud was a little fiddly and we had to manually reset the router a couple of times before it would work. more
