    ASUS ZenFone 5

    HHardware @ 8/10

For the ZenFone 5, we really like its soft touch, matte texture on the rear, as it delivers excellent handling. The build quality is great for the price consumers are paying. One other hardware aspect that the phone is different from the competitors is 3G data connectivity support on both micro-SIM slots. On the software side, ASUS offers a simpler, modernized interface that will appeal to the mainstream consumers. It boasts some useful features such as What's Next and Do It Later to help you stay up-to-date on your schedule and tasks. That said, lags are still noticeable, and that's despite it having 2GB RAM. Hopefully with time, the ZenUI can be better optimized to overcome this. It is however better than the initially tested 1GB RAM edition. more

    RT-N18U

    Silver Award

ASUS RT-N18U support TurboQAM technology for speeds of up to 600 Mbit/s which is you need an adapter or NIC that also support TurboQAM , in my case my USB-AC56 did not support TurboQAM so i cannot fully test it out . Range and Stability is very good , in my case the router is 20meter away from my room blocked by 1 thick wall , i still get a good signal of the Wifi more

    Recommended Award

Being a Mini-ITX board, there isn't much real estate when it comes to placement of key components. On the ASUS Z97I-PLUS the CPU12V socket is just next to the heatsink while the fan connectors are placed at a centralized location.

We enjoyed the ASUS MX279H throughout these few weeks and we find that most of the features offered will benefit users more as a workstation display rather than gaming display, especially for the QuickFit feature for document and photo display

    ASUS ZenFone 5

    PC.COM @ 9/10

The ZenFone 5 is the middle child of the ZenFone family, and is incidentally the face as ASUS is pushing it more than its 4in and 6in siblings. The ZenFone 5 is a wonderful device to hold with a matte soft touch back that has a slight curve for ergonomic purposes. Weighing 145g, the device has a satisfying heft to it. The metal plate below the capacitive buttons rock a concentric circle pattern, evoking the look of another ASUS Zen product – the Zenbook. While this also makes the device longer than other 5in offerings, it still looks great. more

The GTX 770 is a power hungry card, with nVidia's reference TDP for the GTX 770 GPU being 230W so an 8pin + 6pin PCI-E power connector is required for operation. more

    ASUS Fonepad 7 (FE170CG)

    KLGADGETGUY @ 4/5

ASUS has again surprised us with an entry level device like the Fonepad 7 FE170CG, despite some compromises that we've faced in the user experience, the device has performed reliably as our daily driver. It isn't meant for power users, but it certainly has well-balanced features for those who wants a productivity phablet that works well. The ASUS Fonepad 7 FE170CG starts retailing at RM499 for the 4GB variant and up to RM599 for the 8GB variant, we highly recommend to add an extra RM100 to get the higher storage model as you'll need it to download huge apps. more
