    Monitors
    ROG SWIFT PG278Q

    8.5

Considering its impressive specifications, the ROG RG278 does not currently have a direct competitor in the 27-inch space. Most 27-inch monitors typically use IPS panels and are targeted at professionals who desire accurate color reproduction as opposed to fast response times. Besides, it is also the first 27-inch monitor in the world to incorporate G-Sync technology and is also incorporates some useful features such as GamePlus' permanent crosshair overlay. As such, it is not surprising to find thaat the ROG Swift PG278 comes with a hefty price tag of S$1,259. more

    Motherboard
    B85-PRO GAMER

    7.5/10

Overall, as sub S$200 budget gamer-centric board, the ASUS B85-Pro Gamer is one of the most affordable options out there with a decent array of features and expansion options. As a final note, we will recommend the ASUS B85-Pro Gamer to system builders looking for a no-frills, PC gaming rig that is capable of handling current titles and wants to save as much as they can. At the same time, they are willing to overlook the lack of support for next generation Broadwell chips. However, if your budget allows you to top up another S$50, you can get a more advanced board from ASUS. more

    4/5

A very tidy DAC/amplifier combo for your desktop. For the price you can get equally good, if not better offerings from 'traditional' brands. But do give the Essence a try, it may surprise you.

    Motherboard
    MAXIMUS VI EXTREME

    8.5

The ASUS Maximus VI Extreme board's performance is stellar where it counts, namely in overclocking and gaming benchmarks. Its overclocking performance is helped by ASUS' proprietary DIGI+ PWM systems and the on-board energy-saving EPU chip to allow for precise voltage control. In line with its ROG heritage, the inclusion of a high-speed PLX PEX8747 splitter chip allows gamers to set up a multi-GPU configuration for their extreme gaming requirements. For power users, the OC Panel offers convenience in overclocking and system monitoring. Another bundle of surprise is a mPCIe Combo II expansion card. more

    Monitors
    MB168B+

    4/5

Our conclusion is that the MB168B+ does have some of the limitations of TN panels, but it has virtually none of those associated with USB screens. It keeps the ease of setup, but adds fantastic 1080p support, and hardware that can make a superbly smooth job of HD movies, and that works fairly well with games too. Business and home users alike will find plenty to enjoy here. We might prefer a better quality panel, but in other respects, the MB168B+ is stunning, and must the best USB screen yet. more
