    Motherboards
    Z87-DELUXE

    3/5

Performance wise the Z97 DELUXE did well in all our benchmarks in line with the performance of the Z97 chipset and Haswell processor. We were able to get our i7-4770K overclocked to 4.6GHz without a sweat with just a few simple tweaks. Memory overclocking could be improved with a better BIOS support and we are looking for the inclusive of memory presets like what we have been getting with the ROG lineup of motherboards. more

    Motherboards
    MAXIMUS VII GENE

    3/5

ASUS did a pretty good job with their ability to cramp a plethora of features and high grade components in such a small space. The ROG-certified components used in the ASUS MAXIMUS VII GENE help in stability and efficiency of overclocking. Their AI Suite III software did not disappoint us at all in fine tuning the overclocking. The UEFI BIOS is a heaven for extreme overclokers and polished with some additional overclocking features for Intel's latest Z97 chipset and the Devil's Canyon CPUs. However, newbie overclockers might find it hard to get used to the cluster of BIOS options initially but will eventually master it thanks to the informative 200-page user's manual that's included in the retail packaging. Almost each of the options is described clearly in the manual more

    Graphics Cards
    ROG STRIKER-GTX760-P-4GD5

    3/5

From our test on high resolution 1600p gaming, the Striker GTX 760 Platinum suffered from unplayable frame rates in most of the games tested. The minimum frame rates dropped below 30 fps at some points. So, now we know that the 4GB VRAM on the GTX 760 is not an advantage to play like a GTX 780 with 3GB. It's going to play like a reference GTX 760 with 2GB because the hardware simply can't keep up with post processing and rendering job. The GTX 760 is not going to utilize more than 2GB of VRAM. It is perfectly geared for 1080p gaming, and 2GB is what it's designed to use. more

The ASUS ROG Matrix GTX 780 Ti Platinum is a high-end product that offers best in-class performance, extreme overclocking and has more state-of-the-art features that any graphics card that we have tested before. Of course this card is not for everyone, but overall the Matrix GTX 780 Ti Platinum is one hell of a card that would please the most demanding gamers. more

    Graphics Cards
    ROG MATRIX-R9290X-P-4GD5

    4/5

The Matrix R9 290X Platinum has a bit of a problem; its DirectCU II cooler is actually designed for a larger GPU such as the NVIDIA's GK110. As you can see this from the picture below, two of the copper heat pipes don't touch the Hawaii XT GPU at all. Besides that, two other heat pipes just make partial contacts with the GPU chip resulted in inefficient heat dissipation. Their rival, Sapphire managed to solve this with their Tri-X cooler by putting some heat pipes that have better contact with the AMD's GPU. more

After spending time tweaking settings and rebooting the router to no avail, I noticed that the Wi-Fi feature was disabled, presumably by default as a security measure. Perhaps a simple mode that hides all the advanced features is needed in a future refresh. more

    P2B

    7.5

Whether you're a businessman who always goes around conducting presentations and therefore needs a personal portable projector, or a home user looking for an option to get a reasonably big screen in a confined space to play your mobile games, the ASUS P2B is well worth considering if you're willing to part with S$739. If you need higher light output, the internal battery-less ASUS P2M is rated at 500 lumens, but costs a hundred dollars more. more
