ASUS has taken the Pascal-based card and applied their trademark mirror sheen. They have equipped the GTX 1080 with their DirectCU III cooler which claims that the card will run 30% cooler and 3X quieter than the reference card. Much like most premium cards out in the market, the ROG Strix GTX 1080 stays in passive mode (fans are not spinning) until the card hits 60 Celsius. This means that under light to moderate load, the card will stay as silent as possible. Aside from their cooling solution, ASUS have included their AURA RGB LED lighting for enthusiasts out there that are absolutely crazy in decking out their rig with RGB lighting.
