How to update the firmware on an ASUS networking product:
➣If your firmware version is later than 3.0.0.4.376.xxxx, please follow below steps to do firmware update manually:

1. Open a web browser and navigate to your device’s configuration page by typing http://router.asus.com into the address bar.


2. You will see a hint for new firmware available at the upper right corner.


3. Click [Update now] and a pop-up window will show the New Firmware information. Click [Firmware Upgrade] to do firmware upgrade.


4. Please wait for a few minutes until the upload is shown as complete.


5. The update is now completed.


※Notice: After updating the firmware, we recommend that you restore the factory default settings by pressing the reset button of the device for 5 seconds.


➣If your firmware version is older than 3.0.0.4.376.xxxx, please follow below steps to do firmware update manually:

1. Download the latest version of the firmware for your device from the ASUS website

(The steps below show the ASUS RT-AC68U router as an example)


2. Extract the contents of the downloaded Zip file 


3. Open a web browser and navigate to your device’s configuration page by typing http://router.asus.com into the address bar.


4. Type the device’s user name and password in the appropriate boxes – if you have not changed the setting, please use the default values of ‘admin’ (in lowercase and without the quote marks) for both the user name and password.


5. On the main menu page, click the underlined link to the right of ‘Firmware Version’ near the top of the page.


6. Click the [Choose File] and choose the firmware file you want to upload.


7. After choosing the file, click [Upload] button to upload firmware.


8. Please wait for a few minutes until the upload is shown as complete.
