2018/04/03

Gaming beast laptop now boasts desktop-grade firepower with factory-overclocked 8th Gen Intel Core i9 CPU and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics

TAIPEI, Taiwan, April 3, 2018 — ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced the updated G703, a 17.3-inch gaming laptop powered by up to a factory-overclocked 8th Generation Intel® Core™ i9 processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1080 graphics.
G703 features an IPS-level display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3ms gray-to-gray (GTG) response time, and NVIDIA G-SYNC™, allowing for supersmooth gameplay even on Ultra graphics settings. G703 also features HyperDrive Extreme storage, which uses exclusive technology to combine three NVMe™ PCI Express® (PCIe®) SSDs in RAID 0 configuration for read speeds of up to 8700MB/s — the fastest ever on a laptop.

Desktop-grade performance

With performance rivaling that of gaming desktops, G703 is powered by up to a factory-overclocked Intel Core i9-8950HK processor that’s been factory-overclocked for speeds of up to 4.8GHz — 11% more than base speed. Its NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics and 8GB GDDR5X VRAM are also factory-overclocked to speeds reaching 1974MHz and 10.3GHz respectively.

Smooth and seamless gaming

G703 features the most responsive IPS-level laptop display available. This 17.3-inch panel features a 144Hz refresh rate and NVIDIA G-SYNC technology for smooth and seamless graphics. The ultrafast 3ms GTG response time reduces motion blur, enabling G703 to handle the latest AAA gaming titles at Ultra graphics settings without visual tearing, lag, ghosting or obvious framerate stutter. The display even features an anti-glare coating to get rid of those distracting reflections.

Fastest ever storage on a laptop

HyperDrive Extreme storage uses exclusive technology to combine up to three NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs, providing G703 with the world’s fastest RAID 0 storage configuration available in a gaming laptop. Having two out of the three SSDs directly connected to the CPU helps avoid DMI bottlenecks, allowing for data access speeds of up to 8700MB/s.

Light it up with Aura Sync

Aura Sync technology lets gamers customize and sync up light effects with Aura Sync-supported gaming mice, headsets, and other peripherals to create a gaming setup with a consistent look and feel, or to reflect the feel of the game that’s currently being played. Aura Sync has a palette of 16 million colors, and eight lighting modes that can be accessed via the Aura control panel.
