ASUS Wins Nine Prestigious 2015 Red Dot Awards for Outstanding Product Design

Essen, Germany (30th March, 2015) — ASUS today proudly announced that Transformer Book Chi, ZenBook Pro UX501, and seven other products were each honored with the prestigious 2015 Red Dot Award for outstanding product design, reflecting the ASUS commitment to design excellence and its philosophy of providing incredible experiences to users. In-Vehicle Intelligent (IVI) System won the award in the Car Entertainment category; the Transformer Book T Series, Transformer Book Chi, ZenBook Pro UX501, Republic of Gamers G751, and ASUSPRO business notebooks won in the Notebooks category; the Fonepad Series won in the Tablet PCs category; and the EeeBook Series won in the Netbooks category.

The winning ASUS products were chosen from a large field of 4,928 entries from 56 countries. Products considered for the award are assessed on wide range of criteria, including degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, symbolic and emotional content, and ecological compatibility. The Red Dot jury for 2015 is comprised of 38 design experts from around the world. Red Dot is an internationally recognized seal of quality, and 2015 marks the 60th anniversary of the awards.

In-Vehicle Intelligent System

In-Vehicle Intelligent (IVI) System — a collaboration between Hotai Motor Co. Ltd. and ASUS — is the world's first in-vehicle dashboard system to integrate a 7-inch 4G LTE tablet and provide in-car wireless charging, one-touch pairing via near-field communication (NFC), and Bluetooth. The tablet serves as the system’s interactive interface when docked into the vehicle dashboard, allowing users to access personalized content, including local, satellite, and Internet radio; satellite navigation; and a wide range of infotainment services. The innovative docking design and wireless connection between the tablet and the lVI System allows for future software and interface upgrades without the need to replace the entire system.
