ASUS Announces Collaboration with Certis Group to Develop AI Solutions for the Security Industry

Partnership expands ASUS expertise in supercomputer implementation and aims to redefine the security industry through development of AI-enabled applications





TAIPEI, Taiwan, September 9, 2019 ASUS, a leading server systems, server motherboards, workstation and workstation motherboards provider, today announced that the company has joined in a collaboration with Certis Group to develop comprehensive AI security and surveillance solutions, including AI development infrastructure and cloud-computing services. Certis Group is a leading advanced integrated security organization, and its security services cover public sectors, academics, shopping malls, hospitals and airports, such as Singapore Changi Airport.
The partnership with Certis Group represents another achievement in AI development for ASUS since collaborating with the National Center for High-performance Computing (NCHC) of the National Applied Research Laboratories (NARLabs) in Taiwan and other partners to successfully build Taiwania 2, a supercomputer that ranks in the top 20 on the TOP500 list of the world’s fastest supercomputers and in the top 10 on the Green500 list of the world’s most energy-efficient supercomputers.


AI implementation for surveillance

ASUS signed a MOU with the senior managing director of Certis Group, Joseph CP Tan, to announce this collaboration to develop of AI-enabled applications that will transform and redefine the security industry. This collaboration will be implemented based on the big data accumulated by Certis and their bespoke design-for-purpose solutions and services in AI surveillance and monitoring technology in enforcements. ASUS will provide seamlessly integrated software and hardware platforms for AI researchers to develop and use AI models, support GPUs farms and use the state-of-the-art AI Cloud to further strengthen and showcase their leadership in AI, applying it to Certis’ innovative security solutions and driving industry transformation. ASUS will also provide a complete stack of IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) and SaaS (Software as a Service) cloud-computing solutions.

ASUS powerful GPU server for AI innovation

ASUS offers a wide range of AI-optimized servers to build the next generation of AI computing and big-data cloud platforms. In this collaboration, ASUS will offer a powerful GPU architecture server — ESC8000 G4 — that supports up to eight high-performance NVIDIA® Quadro® or Tesla® graphics cards in a 4U chassis and provides flexible system topology configuration options, including the ability to choose a single or dual root complex, making it ideal for deep learning requirements. The patented Adaptive Topology design enables users to switch the system topology easily via the intuitive web-based GUI of the ASUS ASMB9-iKVM server management solution, without changing any hardware configurations or cable routing.
