TAIPEI, Taiwan, September 18, 2020 — ASUS today announced the X415 and X415 laptops, two compact and lightweight 14-inch and 15.6-inch models for everyday computing that offer outstanding value.
The 14-inch ASUS X415 and the 15.6-inch X515 are slimmer, more compact and more powerful than their predecessors. They're powered by up to Intel® Core™ i7 processors and NVIDIA® GeForce® MX330 discrete graphics, with a dual-storage option that combines an SSD with a HDD. The slim-bezel NanoEdge FHD displays allow immersive visuals with a compact footprint, and X415 features an optional LED-illuminated ASUS NumberPad for easy data entry. Comprehensive I/O ports ensure easy and convenient devices connections on the go.
Fast and efficient
ASUS X415 and X515 deliver powerful performance, with up to an Intel Core i7 processor, NVIDIA MX330 discrete graphics, dual-storage designs with up to a 1 TB SSD and a 1 TB HDD. Intel Optane™ memory is also available as an option. X415 and X515 are equipped with all the components needed to make light work of everyday computing tasks.
X415 and X515 are fitted with NanoEdge slim-bezel displays that enable an impressive up to 83% screen-to-body ratio — a remarkable achievement for this class of laptop. The NanoEdge design also enables a more compact footprint, which allows a lighter design: X415 and X515 weigh just 1.5 kg and 1.8 kg respectively.
Enhanced protection
ASUS X415 and X515 are designed to withstand the knocks and bumps of everyday computing. Metal supports underneath the keyboard provide a much more stable platform when typing and using the touchpad. The sides of the lid are also reinforced to provide structural support for the lid, the panel, and the hinge joint.
The HDD features E-A-R® anti-shock technology, consisting of a physical bumper wrapped around the HDD that dampens the impact of physical shocks. There's also active HDD protection that automatically detects shock and vibration across all three axes to safeguard the HDD's internal mechanisms, so users can work without worry, even in a moving vehicle.
Outstanding user experience
ASUS X415 and X515 are now even easier to use. They're also more secure, with an optional fingerprint sensor built into the touchpad to provide one-touch access with Windows Hello.
The optional LED-illuminated NumberPad on X415 makes things a lot easier when crunching numbers. The full-size backlit keyboard is perfect for working in dim environments, with an ergonomic design, sturdy one-piece construction and 1.4 mm key travel for a comfortable typing experience.
Comprehensive connectivity makes connecting devices easy, with dual-band WiFi 5 (802.11ac) and Bluetooth® 5 for wireless connections. I/O ports include USB 3.2 Type-C® (USB-C®), USB 3.2 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A ports, HDMI output, and a microSD card reader.
The high-quality battery offers excellent battery life and a lifespan that’s up to 3X-longer than standard lithium-ion batteries. Fast-charge technology enables users to charge a low battery to 60% in as little as 49 minutes. Integrated ASUS Battery Health Charging technology also makes for a safer charging experience, with measures designed to decrease the battery expansion rate during charging to help ensure the battery stays in good condition.
