[LCD Monitor] Daily Monitor Care: Precautions for Longevity

When using a monitor daily, improper operation or placement can easily lead to screen damage, component aging, and other issues, affecting the device's lifespan and user experience. The following are important usage precautions to avoid various improper habits, environments, and operating behaviors.

 

 

I. Screen Protective Film Removal and Panel Maintenance Instructions:


Important: Before you begin using your OLED display, please read the following guidelines regarding the handling of surface films in detail. Incorrect operation may lead to permanent damage to the device and will not be covered under product warranty.

 

1. Must Remove: Shipping Protective Film To ensure the screen is protected from scratches during transportation, a dedicated transparent plastic protective film is applied to the panel surface.

 Operating Instructions: Please locate the yellow tab or barcode pull-tab, usually found in one of the screen corners (typically bottom-left or bottom-right). Following the direction of the tab, slowly and steadily peel off the entire protective film.    
 Reasons for Removal:    
    Heat Dissipation: OLED pixels generate heat during operation. If the protective film is not removed, heat will accumulate on the panel surface, potentially leading to overheating, accelerated aging, and significantly increasing the risk of image retention (burn-in).    
          。Sensor Performance: The protective film may obstruct the ambient light sensor located beneath the screen, causing abnormal automatic brightness adjustment.    
    Image Quality: The protective film is not an optical-grade material. Removing it allows you to experience the OLED panel's intended maximum contrast and color accuracy.    
2. Strictly Prohibited from Removal: Panel Polarizer / Functional Coating

  ● After removing the transparent protective film with the tab mentioned above, the dark layer that appears on the screen surface and is tightly fitted to the bezel is an integral part of the panel structure.    
  ● WARNING: Do not attempt to scratch, peel, or tear off this dark film from the screen surface using fingernails, blades, or any tools. This layer is either a polarizer or an anti-reflective/anti-glare coating (AR/AG Coating), which is a core component for display imaging.    
  ● Consequences Statement: Forcibly removing or damaging this layer will result in the screen being unable to display images (appearing all white or with abnormal color blocks). Such actions constitute human-induced physical damage and will immediately void the product warranty.

II. Avoid Bad Usage Habits

1. Avoid displaying fixed/static images for long periods

  ● Leaving the monitor displaying fixed or static content for extended periods, such as desktop icons or game interfaces, can easily lead to screen "burn-in" and ghosting issues.    
  ● Solutions: Set up a black screen power-saving mode or dynamic screensaver on your computer; turn off the monitor promptly when leaving your workstation; for OLED displays, enable the pixel shift function and perform regular professional screen maintenance; periodically move window content during use to reduce prolonged display of specific screen areas.    
2. Avoid setting screen brightness too high

  ● Adjusting the screen brightness too high will not only accelerate screen aging but also irritate your eyes and damage your eyesight.    
  ● Solutions: Adjust the monitor's brightness and contrast settings to within the 50%~70% range.    
3. Avoid casually touching the screen

  ● Touching the screen with your fingers can easily cause damage to the LCD screen or scratch the surface due to excessive pressure. Additionally, sweat stains from your fingers can leave smudges on the screen, affecting display quality.    
  ● Solutions: Consciously avoid pressing the screen forcefully yourself or allowing others to do so, and minimize touching the screen surface.  

III. Avoid Unfavorable Usage Environments

1. Keep away from high-temperature environments

  ● If the monitor is in a high-temperature environment or exposed to direct sunlight, it will accelerate the aging of electronic components and the screen, shortening the device's lifespan.    
2. Keep away from high-humidity environments

  ● Excessive environmental humidity can easily lead to short circuits and electrical leakage within the monitor's internal electronic components. It can also corrode the screen, causing liquid leakage. Never place the monitor near water tanks, fish tanks, or other moisture sources.    
3. Keep away from strong magnetic fields

  ● Strong magnetic fields can interfere with the monitor's normal signal transmission, causing issues like screen distortion or flickering, affecting usability.    
4. Keep away from high-dust environments

Dust can accumulate on the monitor's internal electronic components, easily causing short circuits and electrical leakage. Furthermore, chemical components in dust can corrode component surfaces, accelerate aging, and even corrode the screen, leading to liquid leakage.    
5. Keep away from environments with many insects

  ● Small insects can easily crawl inside the monitor. Their accumulated carcasses can cause short circuits, electrical leakage, and may also corrode the screen, leading to LCD liquid leakage.    
6. Avoid placing on uneven surfaces

  ● The monitor should be placed on a stable, flat surface to prevent the device from tipping over and getting damaged. Also, do not place unstable objects in front of the screen to prevent them from falling and damaging the LCD screen.

IV. Avoid Improper Operating Behaviors

1. Do not press the screen when carrying/moving/adjusting

  ● When carrying, moving the monitor, or adjusting the screen angle, strictly avoid pressing or touching the screen surface with your hands. Instead, hold sturdy parts like the base frame or plastic frame. Also, avoid applying excessive force when bending the screen to prevent cracks, black spots, and completely avoid squeezing the LCD screen.    
2. Do not power on immediately after the screen gets damp/wet

  ● If mist appears on the screen surface, first cut off the power, wipe the screen dry, and then place the monitor in a dry environment for 2 hours before powering it on. If the monitor experiences prolonged dampness or water ingress, absolutely do not power it on to prevent safety incidents. You should promptly contact a local service center for inspection and repair.    
3. Do not disassemble the monitor yourself

  ● The monitor contains high-voltage components internally. Disassembly by non-professionals can easily lead to a high-voltage electric shock risk and may also cause damage to the screen or internal components. If inspection or repair is needed, please entrust it to professional personnel.
