Microsoft 2011 Secure Boot Certificate Expiration
Windows Secure Boot certificates expiring in 2026.
When the 2011 CAs (Certificate Authority) expire, Windows devices that do not have new 2023 certificates can no longer receive security fixes for pre-boot components compromising Windows boot security.
Without updates, the Secure Boot-enabled Windows devices risk not receiving security updates or trusting new boot loaders which will compromise both serviceability and security.
More detail from Microsoft, please see Windows Secure Boot certificate expiration and CA updates - Microsoft Support.
ASUS has been working with Microsoft to prepare for the transition to the new 2023 Microsoft Secure Boot certificates.
- Update impacted devices with new BIOS updates from ASUS (if applicable).
- Update impacted devices with new certificates provided by Microsoft through Windows Update.
