    What is DC-MHS?

Innovative MHS architecture simplifies generational transition
Understanding how customers will manage server upgrades and maintenance is a crucial concern for ASUS. Modular architecture allows businesses not only to scale their server infrastructure easily by adding or removing modules as needed, but simplifies maintenance since individual modules can be upgraded or replaced without affecting the entire system.

The Data Center Modular Hardware System, otherwise known as DC-MHS or sometimes Server/MHS, is a standard developed by the Open Compute Project (OCP). It aims to transition from traditional monolithic server architectures to more flexible and efficient modular designs. This design reduces the need for excess components, thereby minimizing waste and energy consumption. By allowing for more efficient use of hardware resources, DC-MHS streamlines the transition from one generation to the next, significantly reducing the carbon footprint through precise scalability. DC-MHS architecture also extends the lifecycle of servers, reducing the environmental impact associated with manufacturing and disposing of hardware.
