ASUS Announces New VivoPC Models

2014/10/16

Chic and powerful mini PC models feature optional discrete graphics with 4K/UHD support, and Vivo DualBay for storage flexibility

ASUS today announced the VM62N, VM62, and VM42 - the latest additions to the VivoPC range. VivoPC packs powerful 4th-generation Intel® Core™ processors, discrete NVIDIA® GeForce® graphics with 4K/UHD (ultra-high definition) support and ASUS SonicMaster technology in a chic, compact box with a footprint slightly larger than a standard DVD jewel case.

VivoPC is designed to cater to day-to-day computing needs, giving users a cinematic 4K/UHD multimedia experience; as well as the flexibility of Vivo DualBay for those looking for faster data access speeds or larger storage space for movie and music libraries. ASUS HomeCloud, together with 802.11ac Wi-Fi, lets users remotely access their PC to stream multimedia files to their TVs.

Discrete graphics with 4K/UHD support and ASUS SonicMaster technology

The high specification VivoPC VM62N and VM62 feature the 4th-generation Intel Core™ i54210U processor for smooth, powerful performance and incredibly-detailed, ultra-realistic 4K/UHD visuals; VivoPC VM62N even boasts discrete NVIDIA GeForce graphics. The VivoPC VM42 features Intel Celeron® 2957U processors and integrated Intel HD graphics.

VivoPC features built-in SonicMaster audio with MaxxAudio® software tuning for pitch-perfect audio. The AudioWizard utility lets users select one of five different preset audio modes (Music, Movies, Gaming, Speech, and Recording) to ensure the best sound for movies and music.

Vivo DualBay - expandable, flexible dual-storage design

The new VivoPC models feature Vivo DualBay - a unique dual-storage design that can accommodate up to two storage drives. This gives users the option to mix-and-match between hard disk and solid-state drives (SSDs) for an ideal balance between larger storage capacities and faster data access speeds.

Two 2.5-inch hard disk drives would be sufficient to store entire movie or music libraries, while a combination of a 2.5-inch hard disk and an SSD would be a perfect choice for fast operating system boot times and lightning-fast application launches.

Cloud access anytime, anywhere with ASUS HomeCloud

ASUS HomeCloud lets users access VivoPC remotely to stream multimedia content or manage files. It features 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi GO! — a software utility that lets users control VivoPC remotely via a mobile device. ASUS HomeCloud can even turn hard drives into a private cloud.VivoPC comes with 100GB of ASUS WebStorage free for one year, so files stored in the cloud can be accessed on any device with an internet connection.
