[2025 XG Mobile] Troubleshooting - GC34X/R Unable to Sustain Maximum GPU Power Under Heavy Load

Applicable Products: 2025 XG Mobile (GC34X, GC34R)

If your 2025 XG Mobile cannot sustain the GPU’s maximum wattage under heavy load, refer to the troubleshooting steps below.

Solution

Please refer to the ASUS Support website. Under [Hotfix], download the GC34 VBIOS Update Tool, then follow the steps below to update the VBIOS to the latest version.

System Setup Before Updating

1.Make sure the [NVIDIA Control Panel] application is closed.
2.It is recommended that no foreground or background applications are running on the XG Mobile.
3.Connect the laptop to the XG Mobile, and do not connect an external display to the XG Mobile.
4.If the laptop connected to the XG Mobile has its own discrete GPU, switch [GPU Performance] or [GPU Mode] to Eco Mode. (This can be configured in Armoury Crate and MyASUS.)

Procedure

1. Run the installer package (EXE file).

2. After launching the installer, prompt and confirmation messages will appear. Type "y" to proceed.

3. The update tool will check whether a compatible GPU is present in the system. If detected successfully, you will see a confirmation message. Type "y" to continue.

*If no compatible GPU is detected or the GPU name is not shown, re-check the [System Setup Before Updating] steps, or refer to [ROG XG Mobile Instruction Guide] and [Troubleshooting - Failure to Detect Graphics Card] to reinstall your GC34.

*If you still cannot proceed with the VBIOS update, contact the ASUS Customer Service Center for inspection and repair.

4. The tool will begin updating the VBIOS. A progress bar will indicate the update status.

5. When the update is complete, press any key to close the window, then restart your laptop to finish the VBIOS update.

*If your problem is not worked out with above solution and information, please contact the ASUS authorized repair center for further tests.
