[Wireless Router] How to set an ASUS router to automatically turn AURA RGB and LED on and off at specific times?

Why do I need to set the on/off times for AURA RGB and LED ?

Note : LED Offline Schedule will also turn off AURA lighting. If you only want to control the AURA lighting, please turn off the LED lighting schedule.

 

Example 1 : If your router supports WiFi 7 + AURA RGB lighting, you can refer to the following time combinations.

21:00-22:30 → AURA Night Lighting Mode

22:31-07:00 → LED offline (all lights off)

 

Example 2 : If your router supports only WiFi 7 and does not support AURA lighting, you can refer to the following time combinations.

22:01-07:30 → LED offline (all lights off)

07:31-22:00 → No setting (lights on normally)

 

Example 3 : If your router supports WiFi 7 Zen series model, you can refer to the following time combinations.

22:01-07:30 → LED Night Mode

07:31-18:00 → LED offline (all lights off)

18:01-22:00 → No setting (lights on normally)

 

 

Before you begin the setup, please confirm that your router meets the following specifications.

This setup is supported on specific firmware versions and the following models.

  • AURA scheduler : (Currently only supports GT-BE19000 AI, other models will be added gradually)                  
    Supports firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_40629 or later and WiFi 7 routers that support AURA RGB.
  • LED Scheduler : (Firmware support for LED light scheduling is not yet available; currently, it only supports the GT-BE19000 AI, with other models to be added gradually.)                  
    Supports ASUS WiFi 7 routers, with LED Night Mode (Dimmed) for LED Scheduler only supporting the WiFi 7 Zen series.

Please refer to the following settings.

A. Set the AURA RGB scheduler

Step 1. Connect your computer to the router via wired or WiFi connection and enter your router's LAN IP or router URL http://www.asusrouter.com to the WEB GUI.

Note: Please refer to How to enter the router setting page(Web GUI) to learn more.

Step 2. Enter your login username and password on the login page and then click [Sign In].

Note: If you forgot the ;username and/or password, please restore the router to the factory default status.

Step 3. Go to [Dashboard], find AURA RGB (near the bottom) and click the calendar icon.

Step 4:Add an AURA scheduler, which allows you to set offline and night mode.

Mode 1 : AURA offline mode

Example  :  The router's AURA RGB lighting is off from 22:00 to 08:00 every Wednesday, and on at other times.

Settings: Enable AURA offline schedule > click [Add profile], set the offline time range, and click [Save] to complete.

 

Mode 2 : AURA Night Mode (Dimmed)

Example  :  The router's AURA RGB lighting is in night mode from 22:00 to 08:00 every Wednesday, and is normally enabled at other times.

Settings: Enable night mode schedule > click [Add profile], set the time range for the night, and click [Save] to complete.

 

To add another schedule, click the [+] icon and follow the steps above. To remove a schedule, click the [Delete] icon, then click [Save] to complete.

 

B. Set the LED scheduler

Step 1. Connect your computer to the router via wired or WiFi connection and enter your router's LAN IP or router URL http://www.asusrouter.com to the WEB GUI.

Step 2. Enter your login username and password on the login page and then click [Sign In].

Note: If you forgot the ;username and/or password, please restore the router to the factory default status.

Step 3. Go to [AiMesh] -> [System Settings] -> Enable [System LED control] or [System LED Night mode], and click the calendar icon.

Step 4:Add a LED scheduler, which allows you to set offline and night mode.

Mode 1 : LED Offline (All Indicators Off)

Example : The router's LED are off from 22:00 to 08:00 every Thursday, and on at other times.

Enable LED offline schedule > click [Add profile], set the offline time range, and click [Save] to complete.

 

Mode 2 : LED Night Mode (Dimmed)

Note: This feature is only supported on WiFi 7 Zen series.

Example : The router's LED are in night mode from 22:00 to 08:00 every Thursday, and are normally enabled at other times.

Settings: Enable night mode schedule > click [Add profile], set the time range for the night, and click [Save] to complete.

 

 

To add another schedule, click the [+] icon and follow the steps above. To remove a schedule, click the [Delete] icon, then click [Save] to complete.

 

 

 

FAQ

1. Are there any rules or sequences for controlling the lights on a router?

 The priority of lighting controls is explained as follows:

(1). Manual control: When the lighting schedule has been set, press the physical button to turn the LED lights on/off, and the lighting control will take effect immediately.

For example, the LED lights are currently set to night mode. After turning off the LED lights by pressing the physical button and then turning them back on by pressing the physical button again, the lighting effect will be automatically restored in the next cycle.

(2). AURA and LED lighting time scheduling: Please refer to the settings in this article.

(3). The AURA lights will also be turned off when the LED lights are scheduled offline.

 

2. What should I do if the LED on my router is not working?

Please check:

(1). Check if the power switch is on. Please refer to the FAQ

(2). Please check if the router is currently scheduled for offline LED lighting. Please refer to the settings in this article.

(3). Please check whether your router's firmware has been updated to a supported version.

(4). If only the AURA light is off, please check if the LED light is in the offline schedule. If the LED light is started offline, the AURA light will also turn off.

 

3. How to troubleshoot an abnormal LED light time scheduling setting on a router?

Please check:

(1). Check if the system time and time zone are correct. Please refer to the FAQ [Wireless Router] How to set up Network Monitoring to make sure your ASUS router’s time zone synchronizes with NTP server

(2). Please confirm that the router's LED scheduling is enabled. Please refer to the settings in this article.

(3). Test whether the LED scheduling setting is normal after 5 minutes.

4. AURA Turns Off with LED Schedule?

The current design of LED lighting offline scheduling will control all lights.

Suggested setup method:

(1). Use AURA scheduling only to control AURA (do not enable LED lighting scheduling).

(2). Use only LED lighting scheduler to control all lights.

(3). Staggered schedules (LED 22:31-07:00, AURA 21:00-22:30).

 

5. Will AiMesh synchronize the LED schedule?

AiMesh will automatically synchronize LED schedules. Once set on the main router, all nodes will automatically sync.

Important Notes: All AiMesh routers and nodes must support LED scheduling. Nodes that do not support AURA/LED lighting cannot synchronize these functions.

 

 

6. Will turning off the LCD affect the router's functionality?

No. WiFi, network, and all functions are working properly.
