[Notebook] Troubleshooting - How to fix the issue that the desktop background becomes dark

After upgrading to Windows 10, 2004 version (build 18362.657) or later, some models may have the issue: The background of main screen, extended screen, or ScreenPad become black. Please refer to the troubleshooting steps below.

 

You may find that the background of main screen, extended screen or ScreenPad become black. If you encounter this issue, you just need to reset the background and then the problem will be resolved.

Please go to the corresponding instruction based on the current Windows operating system on your computer:

 

Windows 11 operating system

How to reset the desktop background

  1. Type and search [Background image settings] on the Windows search bar, then click [Open]②.

How to reset the ScreenPad background

The following takes ScreenPad Plus as an example. Here you can learn more about ASUS ScreenXpert (Screenpad 2.0) IntroductionScreenPad Plus with ScreenXpert 3 Introduction.

  1. In ScreenPad Plus, click [Settings] on the screen, then select [ScreenPad Plus Display]
  2. Click [Background]
  3. Select a picture by using the file selector on your screen or choose any other pictures you like, and then click [Open]④ to set as the ScreenPad Plus's background.
