Sto. Domingo National Trade School achieves one (1) laptop : one (1) student ratio with ASUS laptop units

    With ASUS’ commitment to excellence, the company not only provides best and innovative products to consumers but also seeks to serve and give back to the community. This is where ASUS Philippines together with ASUS Foundation found the Sto. Domingo National Trade School.

    Sto. Domingo National Trade School (SDNTS) in Sto. Domingo, Nueva Ecija is the province’s first and only vocational trade school that houses almost 2,000 Grade 7 to 12 students enrolled in various vocational courses. With this sprawling headcount comes the need to modernize and upgrade the quality of education to ensure that all students are developed to their fullest potentials.

    Trials of computer illiteracy in Sto. Domingo National Trade School

    In this digital transformation era, computer illiteracy is one of the biggest problems Sto. Domingo National Trade School is facing with its 1:7 ratio (1 system unit with 7 monitors per student). With this, the school can not individually accommodate the 3,350 faculty and students thus hindering them to comprehend and grasp the advancement of technology. To add, majority of learners are financially challenged to buy their own gadget leaving them with no choice but to spend their last money on renting in computer shops and cafes.

    ASUS addresses technological challenges in Sto. Domingo National Trade School

    As ASUS believes in the potential of the younger generation, the company is in full support to provide technological solutions by donating fifty (50) pre-owned ASUS laptops to Sto. Domingo National Trade. The units will be installed in the school’s main computer laboratory and will be used by its current students, faculty members, and the future enrollees of the school. Now, the students will enjoy 1:1 ratio (1 laptop unit per 1 student) – where they can individually maximize the use of laptop in their learning process and become computer literates in the near future.
