ASUS PB278Q is a luxury-class 27 inch monitor with LED-backlight. The display offers lots of room for the desktop, which enables the user to simultaneously have a browser and, for example, a word processing program.

By its design the display is modest and by its materials it feels kind of cheap, but in this case the appearance deceives you. The image quality is excellent, and ASUS PB278Q can easily be recommended for image processing.

Overall, ASUS has delivered an excellent entry point for the 27in segment of monitors. It's still a lot more expensive than a 24in alternative, but this is fantastic value for money if you're looking for a bigger display.

ASUS’ PDB278Q monitor is a great choice for gamers, business users, or anyone who wants the best possible image quality from a reasonably-priced monitor. It has a few good preset modes, is well built, and has useful features. It’s not perfect, but it’s a good value PLS panel.

ASUS PB278Q is a solid addition to the 27" IPS market, and while many people will likely comment "Dell has been doing this for years", the point is obviously missed by them. ASUS including itself in this market and creating a monitor with such close competition to the brand new U2713 is only good for the consumer. With any hope the prices of enthusiast 27" monitors will drop, and if not at least there are numerous alternatives available to what was - for a long time - a one horse race.
