[Notebook] Troubleshooting - Windows Displays a ‘Program Compatibility Assistant’ Message

If Windows displays a ‘Program Compatibility Assistant’ message containing the following information, follow the troubleshooting steps in this article.

This app can’t run on this device

  • ASUS Dial Control Panel Toolkit
  • ASUSTek COMPUTER INC.

 

Applicable Models

This issue applies only to models equipped with ASUS Dial & Control Panel application.

 

Troubleshooting Steps

Step 1: Uninstall ASUS Dial Control Panel Toolkit

  1. Click the [Start] icon on the taskbar①, then select [Settings]②.
  2. Select [Apps]③, then select [Installed apps]④.
  3. Locate ‘ASUS Dial Control Panel Toolkit’ in the application list. Click the [More] icon⑤ next to the application, then select [Uninstall]⑥.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstallation.

 

Step 2: Restart Your Computer

After the uninstallation is complete, restart your computer and check whether the ‘Program Compatibility Assistant’ message still appears.

 

Important Information

After uninstalling ASUS Dial Control Panel Toolkit, the ASUS Dial & Control Panel application will no longer be available.

If you would like to continue using ASUS Dial & Control Panel, go to the Microsoft Store and update the application to the latest version.
