SmartHome Gateway HG100: Security Update

A security vulnerability involving the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) has been identified which could allow a remote attacker to take control of devices on a compromised network. This vulnerability has been addressed and has now been resolved via a SmartHome Gateway (HG100) firmware update.

In the interest of network security, we strongly recommend users ensure the SmartHome Gateway (HG100) is running firmware version 1.05.12 or above. This can be done via the ASUS SmartHome app. Users are advised to check the installed firmware version, and agree to install available updates if necessary.

How to check your ASUS SmartHome Gateway (HG100) firmware version is 1.05.12 or above:
1.To check the current firmware version, go to the Settings section of the SmartHome app and select ‘Update gateway firmware’.

2.Select and agree to the update if firmware version 1.05.12 or above is not already installed
