ASUS Announces the VivoBook W202NA
Fremont, CA (August 15, 2017) — ASUS today announced the VivoBook W202NA, a ruggedized laptop designed for use in educational settings. The VivoBook W202NA is powered by the latest Intel® Celeron® processor, and preloaded with Windows 10 S. Designed for teachers and students; it features an ergonomically-designed keyboard, along with rubber-reinforced edges and corners to protect the laptop against bumps and knocks. The VivoBook W202NA features ultrafast 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth® 4.1, and has a unique three-piece modular design for easy on-site maintenance.
A World of Learning Awaits With Windows 10 S
The VivoBook W202NA is pre-loaded with the newly-introduced Windows 10 S, a reconfigured version of Windows 10 Pro that offers a familiar productive Windows experience that’s entirely based on apps from the Windows Store.
Windows 10 S is designed for teachers and students, and is streamlined for security and performance — allowing them to browse the web with Microsoft Edge and use Windows apps to get things done.
A co-authoring function also enables sharing of documents with just a mouse click — ideal for group projects. Far-field voice-recognition technology will also allow users to access Cortana from up to four meters away.
Designed to Work In or Out of the Classroom
The VivoBook W202NA features rubber-reinforced edges and corners designed to reduce the impact of knocks and bumps to protect critical internal components. It’s one of the toughest laptops available, using MIL-STD810G testing methods and having surpassed stringent twist-force, drop (3.9 feet) and high-pressure durability tests that exceed industry standards.
The VivoBook W202NA is powered by the latest Intel Celeron processor to deliver the performance required for daily classroom tasks like web surfing, word processing and presentations. The ergonomic keyboard found on the VivoBook W202NA is not only water-resistant but also has an improved back assembly, 1.8mm of key travel and minimal key float for accurate and comfortable sustained typing sessions. The VivoBook W202NA also offers a large touchpad that’s similar in size to those typically used on 14-inch laptops, and supports Windows Precision Touchpad (PTP) standards for smooth tracking and multi-finger gesture recognition.
To ensure user comfort even after hours of use, the display has an anti-glare coating to help minimize instances of eye strain and fatigue. The 180°-rotatable hinge lets the user tilt the display at a comfortable viewing angle.
The VivoBook W202NA weighs less than 2.7 lbs., and has backpack-friendly dimensions with a slim 0.9in profile and a desktop footprint smaller than an A4 sheet. It is available in Dark Blue.
Easy System Maintenance
The VivoBook W202NA has a unique three-piece modular design for easy access to internal components. This makes it incredibly easy for IT staff to service or upgrade parts without having to remove other components. It also significantly reduces downtime with key components such as the keyboard, touchpad, battery, motherboard, power jack daughter board, and display panels are all easily accessible in a minimum amount of steps.
