St. Joseph’s Academy (SJA), a nationally recognized leader in technology-driven education, partnered with ASUS to elevate student learning, foster STEM innovation, and build a championship-caliber esports program. This collaboration continues SJA’s long-standing commitment to using technology as a transformational force in young women’s education. To continue advancing its tech leadership, SJA sought solutions tailored to its modern classrooms:

  • A high-quality touch and pen solution to enhance classroom interaction

  • An upgraded esports lab with powerful yet easy-to-maintain systems

  • A compact, high-performance device suitable for STEM education

ASUS Solution

To meet these needs, ASUS deployed a customized suite of products at St. Joseph’s Academy:

  • ASUS ExpertBook B3 Flip: A durable, repairable learning device featuring a 360° hinge for versatile use, a garaged stylus for real-time annotation, ASUS Antibacterial Guard, and a TÜV Rheinland-certified display for improved safety and eye care

  • ROG G16CH Desktops: High-performance gaming desktops in the Esports Lab, enabling smooth, reliable gameplay to promote teamwork, strategy, and problem-solving

  • ROG Ally X Handheld PCs: Portable Windows-based devices used in STEM labs to run educational simulation games like Cell to Singularity, making science learning more engaging and interactive

The One-to-one Student Devices

Understanding how SJA built its reputation in tech leadership begins with looking at its foundational story. Technology has been deeply woven into SJA’s mission for decades. Recognized as a STEM School of Excellence by the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association (ITEEA) for two consecutive years, SJA was one of the first schools in the nation to implement a 1:1 laptop program. Their STEM Lab features advanced tools such as laser cutters, micro-computers, and 3D printers.

At SJA, technology is more than a tool—it’s integral to the learning environment. Teachers and students rely on ASUS devices daily for collaboration, creativity, and instruction. English teacher Stephanie Faucette noted how the ASUS ExpertBook B3 Flip changed her classroom dynamic:

“The stylus has been life-changing for me. Before, I had to verbally explain close reading and annotations. Now, I can model those skills in real time, and my students can follow along and learn more effectively.”

The STEM Lab

Beyond English classrooms, students have leveraged ASUS technology in STEM fields. Meagan Moore, Director of the STEM Lab, shared how students now engage in complex 3D modeling and prototyping for engineering projects. With the ExpertBook B3 Flip, they can run advanced software that bridges theoretical knowledge with real-world applications. Robotics and coding competitions have also seen measurable improvements due to the implementation of high-performance student devices.

The integration of gaming into STEM education has also boosted student engagement. The ROG Ally X handheld has become a powerful tool in STEM labs, allowing students to explore biology and science concepts through games like Cell to Singularity. By gamifying education, SJA taps into students’ natural learning styles, making lessons more immersive and impactful.

The Esports LAN Lab

Esports is another area where ASUS has played a transformative role. “The ROG G16 Desktop has significantly improved our students’ gaming experience,” said Taylor Templet, Esports and IT Manager. “Smooth gameplay and fast loading times make a huge difference—not just in competition, but in how students learn to problem-solve under pressure.”

The impact of esports at SJA goes beyond gameplay. The program serves as a platform for students to develop leadership, communication, and critical thinking skills—core competencies that are increasingly valuable in the digital age. Regular practices, tournaments, and team-based competitions simulate real-world pressure environments, giving students an edge in future academic and career pursuits. With ASUS technology as the backbone, the esports program has not only elevated SJA's campus life but also inspired a stronger sense of community and school spirit.

The Self-Maintainer Program

Outside of academics and competition, SJA also empowers students through a Self-Maintainer Program. With ASUS support, students were able to handle basic repairs and maintenance themselves, through the Self-Maintainer Program.

“Since implementing this program, we’ve experienced a notable decrease in downtime, since we no longer need to send devices back and forth to the depot.” Taylor shared. “It allows the IT team to teach the girls valuable skills, critical thinking, and logical problem solving.” This hands-on approach boosted the student’s confidence and fostered a sense of ownership over their learning environment.

The ASUS Support

One of the most valuable aspects of the partnership has been ASUS’s commitment to support. Over the past 18 months, SJA has received consistent assistance through weekly calls, direct executive involvement, and responsive collaboration. As Director of IT, John Richardson, noted:

“Since the first unit rolled in, ASUS has been there ready to help, and ready to answer. When you're a school and you spend this kind of capital on your devices for your student, it's super important that the relationship you have with your vendor is strong. And we've been so happy with the relationship that we've had with ASUS."

Through this partnership, ASUS has not only delivered cutting-edge devices but has also helped reshape how students and teachers engage with technology. Whether in classrooms, esports arenas, or STEM labs, ASUS is helping cultivate the next generation of learners, problem-solvers, and tech leaders.
