    • Does Halo require special displays?

      Halo supports any monitor or TV regardless of resolution, including 4K and higher resolutions While the display does not have any special requirements, Halo does require a PC or laptop with a discrete graphics. More information can be found below.

    • Does Halo support multi-display setups?

      Yes, Halo supports up to a triple monitor setup. However, due to limitations in output power, the total perimeter should not exceed 2.4m when using ROG Addressable LED Strips or the equivalent of 210 LEDs when using other addressable RGB strips.

    • Are there any limitations in content when using Halo?

      The Halo software analyzes the video output, so it is able to react to the content on your screen. Put simply, Halo supports most common scenarios, like watching movies or videos on YouTube and when playing games.

    • Does Halo support HDCP content?

      No, Halo cannot analyze content that uses HDCP encryption.

    • Does Aura Halo only work with ROG Addressable LED Strips?

      No, it works with any addressable strip that is compatible with ASUS Aura Sync. To account for possible differences in color reproduction, we recommend opting for a single type of LED strip when using the Halo feature.

    • Which strips or accessories does the ROG terminal support?

      Look for the ASUS Aura Sync badge to find compatible products. You can find the qualified vendor list on the ASUS Aura microsite: https://www.asus.com/campaign/aura/index.html

    • Are there any hardware requirements for the ROG Aura Terminal?

      If used for controlling addressable devices, ROG Aura Terminal only requires a USB 2.0 port. Guidelines for using Halo and Aura are listed below:

      Aura Minimum Requirements - OS: Windows® 7/ Windows® 8.1/ Windows® 10
      Recommended Requirements - OS: Windows® 10
      Halo Minimum Requirements - OS: Windows® 10
      - Graphics: Dedicated VGA*
      *Halo does not support integrated graphics (iGPU).
      Please connect your display to a DP / HDMI port located on your VGA card.
      Recommended Requirements - OS: Windows® 10
      - Processor: 6th Generation Intel® CoreTM i5 or above / AMD 1st Generation Ryzen 5 or above.
      - Graphics: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 900 series and later / AMD Radeon R9 series or above.
      Aura
      Minimum Requirements - OS: Windows® 7/ Windows® 8.1/ Windows® 10

    • The ROG Aura Terminal isn’t working

      Please check the steps below to make sure the device is installed properly.

      When using the built-in lighting effect:

      - The power cord/Molex cable is properly plugged into both the ROG Aura Terminal and a wall socket/PC power supply. If your configuration is connected to a PC power supply, please make sure the power supply is switched on.
      - Addressable RGB strip is plugged into the channel correctly.

      When using the Halo software:

      - The Halo software is installed on a Windows® 10 system.
      - The Power cord is plugged into both ROG Aura Terminal and a wall socket.
      - The Addressable RGB strips are correctly plugged into each channel.
      - The USB cable is correctly plugged into both ROG Aura Terminal and the USB port.
      - The display is connected to a DP/HDMI port located on your graphics card.
      - The ROG Aura Terminal is unlinked (desynced) from the Aura software.
      - Reboot your computer.

      When using Aura software:

      - The power cord/molex cable is properly plugged into both the ROG Aura Terminal and a wall socket/PC power supply. If your configuration is connected to a PC power supply, please make sure the power supply is switched on.
      - The addressable RGB device is correctly plugged into each channel.
      - The USB port is correctly plugged into both the ROG Aura Terminal and the USB port/header*.
      *If using the Terminal within a system, please make sure the orientation of the connector is correct.
      - If the Halo software is installed, please make sure it is disabled.
      - Reboot your computer.
