The ZenBook A14 is a successful gamble for Asus. With this model, the brand proves that it's possible to offer a coherent, durable, affordable and well-finished Windows ARM PC, without sacrificing the essentials. It doesn't aim for raw performance: that's not its mission. But for a student, a journalist or a nomadic executive, it fulfills its role perfectly, being light, durable, pleasant to use, silent and rather well equipped. The Snapdragon X2 Elite features the Hexagon NPU 6, the top-tier laptop NPU, delivering up to 80 TOPS of AI performance—nearly a 78% increase over the 45 TOPS of the previous-generation Snapdragon X series.

Working alongside the ONNX Runtime provided by Windows ML, AI inferencing on the Snapdragon X2 Elite can leverage the CPU, GPU, and NPU together to accelerate on-device AI processing. As a result, users can enjoy faster and more efficient AI-powered experiences across popular applications, including Adobe Premiere, Blender, VS Code, Affinity Photo, and more.
Through precise engineering, we cut down most of the weight from the chassis and saved more space for advanced components. This time, we applied Ceraluminum™ to the entire chassis. From the lid and keyboard frame to the bottom case, which reduces around 20-25% of the entire device's weight. A condensed mainboard and two lightweight fans are used to enhance space efficiency, reduce weight while delivering faster and more efficient signal travel, and manage heat better.
Ceraluminum™, a high-tech ceramic in a range of nature-inspired colors. The innovative treatment used by ASUS uses an electrical, physical, and chemical transformation of aluminum immersed in a water bath. ASUS spent four years fine-tuning the colors, texture and hardness of this innovative material, and the results speak for themselves. The technique gives metal alloy a longer lifespan by making it harder and more resistant to wear. It is also anti-abrasive and protects against corrosion, while lending an extremely beautiful aesthetic touch and an extremely pleasant feel.

Design-wise, you will first be drawn to the exceptionally high-quality surface, then to the very special sensation of texture. Not only for the looks but also on the FEEL. Creating something this beautiful, in ceramic, requires a huge amount of know-how and patience. The color, shades, porosity and the detailed texture (smooth or rough) are further fine-tuned by temperature, voltage and electric current. Achieving the exact right color, creating the precise tactile quality on a laptop chassis is the result of years of applied expertise.
It’s an environmentally friendly technique that produces Ceralumimun™ using high-voltage discharges. It saves time and maximizes energy efficiency. It’s halogen-free with low toxic emissions and produces less industrial wastewater (compared to traditional anodized alloy processes).

No organic compounds, VOCs, strong acids, or heavy metals are required. The process uses 95% pure water, and because the electrolytic bath is typically a low-concentration, chemically benign, aqueous solution, waste liquids can be discharged directly to municipal drains after a slight pH adjustment.

Giving further environmental credibility to these brand-new materials, at the end of their life they are also fully recyclable - corrosion protection is imparted by changes to the substrate itself, rather than by adding sprayed-on alloys that may be difficult to recycle.

All things considered, this material is perhaps one of the most environmentally friendly lightweights, and long-lived metal alloy components.
The process and the materials are different. Both these techniques use ceramic's hardness advantage.
Frequent handling and contact with various surfaces in everyday use can lead to wear and tears on a laptop. In our lab tests, Ceraluminum™ was rubbed back and forth over the same spot more than 18,000 times without damaging the device's color. Additionally, we placed the laptop, along with keys and coins, inside a rotating drum that dropped them repeatedly from a height of 50 cm to simulate accidental impacts commonly experienced in the real world. Despite being dropped from different angles at the same height, the laptop remained completely unscathed.

The memory of the ASUS Zenbook A14 is designed as onboard components, and the SSD uses an M.2 slot. However, we do not recommend that users upgrade the storage by themselves. Please contact your local service center for component upgrades.
