Ceraluminum™, a high-tech ceramic in a range of nature-inspired colors. The innovative treatment used by ASUS uses an electrical, physical, and chemical transformation of aluminum immersed in a water bath. ASUS spent four years fine-tuning the colors, texture and hardness of this innovative material, and the results speak for themselves. The technique gives metal alloy a longer lifespan by making it harder and more resistant to wear. It is also anti-abrasive and protects against corrosion, while lending an extremely beautiful aesthetic touch and an extremely pleasant feel.

Design-wise, you will first be drawn to the exceptional high-quality surface, then to the very special sensation of texture. Not only for the looks but also on the FEEL. Creating something this beautiful, in ceramic, requires a huge amount of know-how and patience. The color, shades, porosity and the detailed texture (smooth) are further fine-tuned by temperature, voltage and electric current. Achieving the exact right color, creating the precise tactile quality on a laptop chassis is the result of years of applied expertise.

It’s an environmentally friendly technique that produces Ceraluminum™ using high-voltage discharges. It saves time and maximizes energy efficiency. It’s halogen-free with low toxic emissions and produces less industrial wastewater (compared to traditional anodized alloy processes).

No organic compounds, VOCs, strong acids, or heavy metals are required. The process uses 99% pure water, and because the electrolytic bath is typically a low-concentration, chemically benign, aqueous solution; waste liquids can be discharged directly to municipal drains after a slight pH adjustment.

Giving further environmental credibility to these brand-new materials, at the end of their life they are also fully recyclable - corrosion protection is imparted by changes to the substrate itself, rather than by adding sprayed-on alloys that may be difficult to recycle.

All things considered, this material is perhaps one of the most environmentally friendly lightweights, and long-lived metal alloy components.

The process and the materials are different. Both these techniques use ceramic's hardness advantage.

Frequent handling and contact with various surfaces in everyday use can lead to wear and tear on a laptop. In our lab tests, Ceraluminum™ was rubbed back and forth over the same spot more than 18,000 times without damaging the device's color. Additionally, we placed the laptop, along with keys and coins, inside a rotating drum that dropped them repeatedly from a height of 50 cm to simulate accidental impacts commonly experienced in the real world. Despite being dropped from different angles at the same height, the laptop remained completely unscathed.

The A part of Zenbook S14 is made of Ceraluminum™, and C, D parts are made of aluminum alloy that perfectly complements its prestigious finish with color of Antrim Gray and Scandinavian White.

Including the main screen, the Zenbook S14 can output up to four displays.

The burn-in of the OLED panel occurs mainly because the temperature is too high, and the same screen is maintained on the OLED display for a long time. Therefore, in order to avoid such issues, ASUS OLED laptops have a great thermal design, avoiding the OLED panel temperature going too high. In addition, a new ASUS OLED Care function has been added to the MyASUS software for OLED models. This function is a bit like a screen saver. When the laptop is left idle on the same screen for too long, the software will automatically turn on the protection animation to reduce the burn-in risk. ASUS will also continue to develop new functions to reduce burn-in issues and allow users to obtain these functions by live updates.

For the storage, Zenbook S14 features a PCIe 4.0x4 NVMe M.2 slot that users can upgrade by themselves. But, if users upgraded the SSD which is without being verified by ASUS, it may affect system stability, so we do not recommend users upgrade by themselves.

The Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processor is based on the Intel Panther Lake microarchitecture, marking the first client SoCs built on the Intel 18A manufacturing process.

The compute tile of the Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processor features up to four P-cores (Cougar Cove), up to eight E-cores (Darkmont), and four low-power E-cores (Darkmont) designed to handle suitable workloads within a low-power compute domain, enhancing energy efficiency and extending battery life.

Additionally, Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 3 processors integrate Intel NPU 5, IPU 7.5 image processing unit (IPU), and the Xe3 architecture iGPU for advanced AI acceleration, improved imaging performance, and superior graphics capability.

The ASUS Zenbook S14 series' thermal module features a 37% enlarged vapor chamber and ultra-thin dual-fan, enabling quieter and cooler compared to normal thermal system. Additionally, it features a geometric grille design with CNC machined cooling vents, enhancing cooling efficiency by 50% (compared to traditional cooling vents). It’s functional aesthetics in action.

Furthermore, the ASUS Zenbook S14 offers the Fan Profile function with three modes: Performance, Standard, and Whisper. The Zenbook S14 stays cool and fast at 28W in Performance mode, but it runs almost silently (under 25dB) in Whisper mode.
