Hey Everyone!
So it was my grandpa’s birthday a few months back and I really wanted to gift him something beautiful. I had saved enough and got him the amazing Zenfone 2. Trust me! It was a real task picking out the right phone for him, given the fact that there are very few user friendly devices available for older people, like my grandpa. Although, I was glad to have been informed of Zenfone’s Easy Mode mode! This is just why I went ahead with the purchase. For all those thinking on similar terms, either from their parents or kids point of view, Zenfone 2 is what you want to invest in!
I would like to break this post into two parts, this should help you understand the feature better:
1. How to activate it? 2. Features and Advantages
Here’s how you can go about activating it:
Step 1:
Go to settings, like shown below:
Step 2:
Tap on Easy Mode, under the personal section
Step 3:
Swipe the On/Off section to enable the mode.
Step 4:
Voila! Your home screen should now look just like the image posted below.
The Easy Mode sure does come with several benefits and advantages, I would personally want to point out a few:
1. Big and easy to read icons 2. User friendly interface 3. Direct dialing, right from the home screen 4. Endless icons could be added to the home screen
Also you could go ahead and change the theme, like shown below:
1. Go to 'More Apps' on the home screen page, like shown below:
2. Click on those dots (the arrow) and choose 'Use darktheme'.
Another interesting feature that caught my attention was the feedback backend service via the interface. This feedback service works as a forum to share and provide solutions to users as well as provides a, ‘FAQ’ section of the mode, alongside. To go through the same, you could follow the same steps as shown for the dark theme. Instead, this time tap on Feedback & Help.
To make this digital experience simpler, I saved several apps for my grandpa. Here’s how you could do the same:
Starting from the home screen page, swipe to the next page (from the right), like shown below:
This should take you to the image posted below. Tap on the add icon and add a desired app. For reference sake, I have added in Chrome, you could add in just about anything.
Having clicked on the add icon, it should take you the 'All Apps' section, I have chosen Chrome here.
As you can see in the next image, that chrome is now part of my app list. Simple, isn’t it?
You could follow the same procedure for adding in contacts. Although, make sure to swipe left, this time from the home screen.
Hope this helps someone out on the forum! Also I would be more than happy to learn any features I may have missed out on this easy mode, make sure you share in your thoughts!
