Good day!

I have a Zenfone 3 Max ZC553KL Rose Pink Model. Today, I have installed two apps on it: Opera Max & Opera VPN then decided to restart my phone.

When I pressed the power button and clicked "restart", I noticed it shuts itself down then went on to optimize 2 apps. Then the ASUS screen appeared for several seconds. Then the "restarting apps" notification appeared.

However, the "optimizing 2 apps" appeared again then the ASUS screen and it went on and on.

I just bought my phone last week of February 2017 and it is still under warranty. I read that boot-looping can sometimes be fatal for a phone especially if it has corrupted storage that just went unnoticed until I chose to restart my phone.

What can be done with the problem? My phone is heating up due to the boot-loop problem and I think this will go on until my battery is fully drained. Can I still have this phone replaced in your stores? Before this boot-loop I already encountered lags on the touchscreen response that I have to press the power button to lock the phone and open again.

Acting on curiosity always leads someone, somewhere. It enable

Try to start up Recovery Mode by holding the volume down + power buttons for 3 seconds, then using the volume buttons to scroll and the power button to select, choose wipe data/factory reset. If the storage isn't corrupted, this should bring back the condition of the device to it's state when you first unboxed it. Unfortunately the files and apps will be gone, but it may save you a trip to the store for a replacement.

Thank you, nikkojames!

I successfully did the hard reset. It's just a hassle that I have to re-install all the apps I downloaded/installed before. Too many apps downloaded from the play store should make one avoid the factory reset solution, if there's any other way. However, most service providers (the cellphone repair shops "kuno") I went to recommended factory reset, famously called REFORMAT/REPROGRAM (duh!), as the ONLY solution especially with the boot-looping problem. Luckily, doing the factory reset is relatively easy for a user and saved me from paying a minimum of P500.00 for the job at a repair shop.
