Camera quality has degraded after nougat update

These are the problem
1)camera no more uses flash in auto mode in low light
2)camera is talking very noisy photos in artificial  light source
3)some time auto focus doesn't  work

Can you please share your screenshots and take video if you can.

This will help us to investigate your issue in detail.

Also let us know the firmware version of your device.

Flash sometimes don't work in low light even if it is set to auto and low light shots are noisy.

Software version:WW_14.2020.1708.56_20170719


You can see zenfone 3 struggling to auto focus in below photo

Go to settings => Apps => select the Camera app=>
Force Stop the app => Select Clear Cache and data => uninstall updates=>Restart phone=>reinstall the app.


Also reboot to safe mode and check

How to Enter Safe Mode?

Apply to: ZenFone, PadFone, FonePad

When power is off:

1.      Long press power key to boot.

2.      When ASUS logo appears, press and hold volume down key till home screen appears

3.      “Safe Mode” reminder appears on the lower-left of home screen

When power is on:

1.      Long press power key.

2.      Tap and hold “Power Off”.

3.      Tap “OK” of Reboot to Safe Mode window.


4.      “Safe mode” reminder appears on the lower-left of home screen.



How to Exit Safe Mode ?

Restarting your device. Your device will now be exit safe mode.

What this has to do with camera?As i can remember marshmallow builds didn't have this issue photo quality was brilliant camera was focusing very fast and battery life was better too.

Same problem with ZenFone 3 ZE520KL
