Good morning Zenfans, I'm sure most of you already manually install some updates android Marshmallows because it was not impatient. That's right a lot of improvement in this version that I can feel, such as:

1. My battery is more durable (Because Doze and wifi is turned off)
2. Switching apps is smooth, with no more laggy UI and animations more pronounced
3. Use of a less optimal ram and I think lighter

But I also feel disappointed with the update to Android 6.0 for

1. An app that I downloaded it can no longer be moved in the external memory (MicroSD). Whereas in the last marshmallow android standard feature, named Flex (change memory Ext. MicroSD be internal, swappable microSD) but why after the update this feature nope on setting ?. only an option "Format as portable storage" without "Format as Internal storage" selection ?
2. When wifi is turn on, doze feature is not active, because last night my android with state battery  77% (about 24 o'clock) and I've set between 1 am and 4 am on battery with  auto "Super Saving" mode, but in the morning when I check again battery still 34 %. In fact, the day before with the same configuration and wifi turn off the battery when I check in the morning just decrese 5% from the last battery percentage state. It's different with lolipop, when using wifi it's more battery saving not drain it like this

I want to ask:

1. Since I do a manual update with the firmware file from the official website for ZE500KL asus Indonesia. Will I still be able to get an OTA update from the asus?
2. Is the firmware files that are on the official website to get a revision (different for file contents) of any revision to the same firmware version (Latest on release notes for ZE500KL WW_13.10.6.16_20160421) ?. Because yesterday I did an update of the website, but after I check the update files of android M on the website again, there is nope android M file ?. Do I get a software update information if the update file that previously installed on my Phone get revisions, but still with the same firmware version (WW_13.10.6.16_20160421)

Of the two questions above that make me want to DOWNGRADE lollipop Because I never do manual update before on my asus smartphone, I always wait for the update OTA (New first perform manual update, because the impatient), then
1. I am afraid not receive OTA updates and google security patches again from ASUS via OTA.
2. I feeling that the manual update from the asus website there is always a revision (like this morning I check the update file, but now this file is missing from asus website). So maybe the firmware that I installed on my phone can be different every subsequent existing upadte file in asus website with the same firmware version. So I wanted to downgrade and enjoy the updates that given from asus via OTA, because the updated version of the OTA is stable with a final revision and ready to be given to consumers without bug

So if someone knows how to DOWNGRADE to lolipop, please tell me and give me explanation from all my question. Thank you very much

*Sorry for my bad english, I'm from indonesia

Hi Lukkyanto I'm new here at Zentalk. But I use the same model as you but I haven't Update my phone to Android 6.0 Marshmalow yet but if you want to downgrade your phone try a Factory reset it will turn everything back to Stock but do be aware that it will also delete your files so do a backup. Also may I ask how did you updated yours and what is an OTA Update Thanks

Hi Lukkyanto I'm new here at Zentalk. But I use the same model as you but I haven't Update my phone  ...

Hi Xyril, I think factory reset just delete file, app and data on my phone, can't roll back my android version (lolipop). And after factory reset it's back on last your android version but with refresh data, such as just preload apps and it's data from manufacture.

Ok I'm using ZE500KL version (just this version now getting official marshmallow, another version will be getting soon). Because I tried everytime to check update software and didn't get update notification I'm starting impatient, so I'm download android M file on official asus indonesia website. After download it from laptop, just put this file (usualy file name first is UL WW....x.x.x.) on your internal memory. Please don't rename this file and then unplug your data cable from your phone. You'll get notification update file on your norification bar. Just klik update to update with, please make sure your battery 75% above. Wait until process update done.

OTA  UPDATE over the air update, it mean you'll getting push update sofware from asus via internet, direct from your phone. It will notice you when your device ready to update via status bar

Look here: http://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-75483-1-1.html

Thanks vdishev, but' I'm still confuse... It mean you enter recovery mode from Marshmallow, isn't? And then do wipe/factory data from its, do update again from detected file update and then factoey/wipe data and done

Or

you downgrade  before and do revovery mode from lolipop?. Because usually when put updste file on ext Memory it's shown update notif on status bar phone?, do wipe/factory dta, update again from detected file update, do facrory again, done

Or how, can you explain to me?. Thanks very much

I make it this way and all works fine. Made wipe data before and after downgrade.

Other way to downgrade is to flash RAW image of Lollipop firmware (WW_ZE500KL_V12.8.5.222_M3.6.42_Phone-user.raw) with AsusFlashTool. I'll try to find image file from 4pda forum, but I did not flash files this way and not sure how to do it.

Hey lukyyanto,

As of now there is no official way to downgrade on ZE500KL.

Also installing firmware version from different region may stop your device from receiving OTA updates.

Hey lukyyanto,

As of now there is no official way to downgrade on ZE500KL.

Asus or any other company never provide Official way to downgrade the phone firmware, because it impacts on their inability to provide good updates and decreases the reputation too. ;)

But, there is a official way (without rooting is also an official way ;) ).

I have downgraded my ZE 550KL some times.
