Is it necessary to factory reset the phone before and after installation of Android M.

i tried it without factory resetting the phone but it does not work at all, i cant see any update notification on restarting the phone after copying the firmware to the internal memory. kindly guide.

You need to download the ROM for the ZE and ZX 551ML  models. THere is no FOTA update for these phones.
