Nougat is NOT going to happen for Zenpad

After checking with Asus and Google, it appears that a Nougat update from Asus is NEVER going to be. Unless maybe rooting it and doing it manually.
For the Z500M Zenpad and others, here is the list of companies that either have received a push update to Nougat or have it scheduled, Asus is not there.

Google
HTC
Huawei/Honor
Lenovo/Motorola
LG
OnePlus
Samsung
Sony
Xiaomi

I have had two chats and two emails to Asus support, the last one wanted me to check with Google and I did, as you can see from the list, a Asus Zenpad or phone is frozen in time.

Wow, really? At the very least release the kernel source code so we can get Nougat on it ourselves.

If that's the case, this is my last ASUS device.

If Asus isn't going to update my z580ca tablet, at least they could unlock the bootloader so their customers can enjoy their Tablet. Be fair to your customers. I am currently a loyal Asus customer but that may change.

Yeah, I bought their "top of the line" tablet with the expectation that since it had the hardware, they would at least unlock the bootloader so independent development could go forth.
I've told everyone i know to stay far away from asus and will continue to.
I feel so ripped off.

this is not 100% true. The Z380M (Zenpad 8.0) and the Z300M have received the Nougat Update some weeks ago and were already updated in the meantime with a security update.
But you are right...it would be great if the bootloader could be unlocked (and/or other models would follow)

The Asus Zenpad 3S 10 (Z500M) has received the update to Nougat as of yesterday. I updated my tablet last night.
