ZenPAd 3S 10 and Quick Charge

Are u using Z500M or Z500KL variant of Asus 3S 10?

VICTORY!! I got the ever elusive '+' when charging. Finally was able to find an Asus OEM 18w Fast Charger on Amazon. I am using the Z500M. I will report back more info, as i just got the charger today.

Ok, did a little testing. It sucks that only the Asus charger i found works, but at least it works. I did try a samsung adaptive fast charger, but no luck with that one. The Asus OEM charger i linked in my last post shows all indications of quick charging.

I'm based in Europe and had the following results for my Z500M:

1/ I confirm that Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 will NOT quick charge. I bought one from Ugreen certified QC3 18W (5V/3A 9V/2A) and it's not charging faster than the original Asus charger

2/ To Fast Charge my tablet, I had to buy an ASUS 18W Bootmaster charger. I bought it from an Asus accessories reseller, following Asus support recommendation, there : https://www.accessoires-asus.com ... anc-65911-60563.htm
When I use it I do have the + sign after the battery icon and it does say "Fast Charge". But I have to admit even if it charges slightly faster, it certainly does not go from 0 to 60% charge in 30 minutes !!

3/ I also think this is using the same "Fast Charge" technology as Samsung as if I use a S8 Fast Charge charger it does display the + sign for a second, then normal charge, then nothing and then it loops again (fast, normal, nothing). I suppose this charger is not powerful enough as it is only 1.87A in 9V, to compare to the 9V/2A of the Asus one.

I don't know which version of. The 3s 10. You have, but my z500m DOES NOT quick charge with the original charger that it came with. Only reports I have seen about sucessful quickcharging, are from using oem asus 18w quickcharger from Amazon.

Looking for a compatible car charger for ZenPad 3S 10 Z500M:

I have a ZenPad 3S 10 Z500M and I did some experimenting with an App that drains the battery when connected to a 2.1 Amp car charger with a 3rd party cable and with the usb cable that came with the ZenPad.  I am running Android 7.0.  So far the device will only maintain and recharge with both the cable and charger that came with it.  I tried all combinations with a 2.4 Amp AC wall charger (Ventev ASUC57a-050480) and it continuously discharges and powers off after several hours of operation.  I need a 'car charger' because I use the tablet when traveling and only have a 12 volt car charger (cigarette liter power outlet).

The charge/battery icon does not show a '+' sign under any conditions.  With the original Asus charger and cable when you navigate to the settings and touch the battery settings it shows a charge/discharge curve with a dotted line to indicate full charge or full discharge when no charger is connected.  When a 3rd party charger is connected it doesn't show the dotted line to full charge but only the current charge level which steadily decreases.
