In today's Modern life smartphone is considered as a basic necessity. For every need, there's an App to fulfil your wish, if a smartphone is used so heavily its equally important that your device should last long & you should not run for a charger again & again. Asus Engineer makes sure that there is a perfect combination of software as well as hardware. As providing 3000mah or 5000mah hardware alone cannot provide you humongous battery life there needs to be smart software also to make sure that the device works efficiently enough to make the most of the provided hardware.
Before jumping straight into benchmarking let us see a few key features of Mobile Manager:
1. Power saver => Under power saver mode, we have different way to change the device behavior as per our convenience.
i. Performance Mode - Smartly adjusts CPU performance, set it to this mode when you want to enjoy gaming, or watch HD videos without any performance compromise.
ii. Normal Mode - As the Name suggest when you want a blend or mixture of performance & standby, switch to Normal mode for battery battery efficiency.
iii. Power saving Mode - When you want your device to cut off all connections smartly without any user interference you can switch to Power saving mode so that the device turns off the connection when the device display turns off.
iv. Super saving Mode - Under super saving mode as the name suggests it should be only used when you don’t need to use your device completely, but want only important things like calls, messages & alarm to appear but at the same time the device shouldn’t consume battery when kept idle.
2. Boost => Boost is one of the important feature which user will use quite often to clear RAM usage & kill App's. There is a great feature called Super Boost where a particular set of applications can be selected so that when you boost again your Important App's won’t be killed or closed.
3. Notification => With every App you install there comes a notification pop up bundled with it... But you can deny these notification's from appearing again & again, you can enable or disable these Apps from the Notifications option under Mobile Manager.
4. Clean up => Clean up provides a brief overview about the storage situation on your your device, so it will scan for big files, give you option to clean, show you what’s consuming files etc. 5. Privacy & security => Its a great feature as you would have heard an app which has no use to access few features on the device still asks for the permission so to keep a watch on the same privacy & security plays an important role. The Antivirus solution is powered by Avast.
6. Permissions => It has similar permission check & an auto start manager placed inside it.
i. Auto start Manager - This feature is for users who always complain of random battery drain or find the app's which runs under background, so to simply things Auto start manager can really help it will let you deny apps from running under background & enabling only those apps which you require to run when you need it.
So I feel it’s enough of the App description & lets actually see how much SOT (Screen on Time) will you get after using these helpful features & also is Mobile Manager really effective:
1. So I started using my Zenfone 3 Max (ZC521KL) why this device basically because this has a 5000mah battery, has Anroid N out of the box & I wanted to benchmark this because of my heavy usage. Below you can see at 54% the device's SOT is around 4.30 hours, which is where most/all devices will die completely. As you can see that my device 4G is all time on followed by Bluetooth which i always use to connect my Moto 360 1st gen watch.
2. So when I slept the battery was around 28% I kept the alarm on my phone & changed the battery mode to Super saving mode where I was surprised that when i got up after a 6 or 7 hours of sleep the battery % declined only 1% it really surprised me the standby which the device provided. I took this below screenshot when i was travelling on my way to work I usually dont store songs in my device so I always stream music through saavn. the device still had juice left 7.30 hours of SOT thats roughly for every 10% I get 1 hour of SOT.
3. So this was the time when i took screenshot to get the final result looks really impressive 8.30 hours of SOT & still 10% of battery left which will give you another hour of juice if you use super saving mode can add up another 2-3 hours.
So to sum it up my experience with Mobile Manager was really impressive & as per my usage it was really shocking. So to list it down i use the following under which i got the above SOT.
1. Saavn Music streaming all time 2. Youtube video's for few hour's 3. Bluetooth always on apart from sleep time (Moto 360 smartwatch & Bluetooth headphones) 4. Brightness change as per my needs mostly 50%
5. No Games played at all
6. Normal App's like Social Media App's
7. Call's very few around 1-2 hour.
So hope you all enjoyed it, do share your experience & let us know does this benchmark was as per your expectations considering my usage.
