We've got contests coming up every week, if you missed this one, look out for another

We understand and respect the feedback we've received through the weeks on the Marshmallow Update! Here's why we've listed up a few tips to help you run your Zenfone smoothly. We're sure this is going to help you, in case you've not been aware of these tips. Happy Weekend!

1. Reduce or Switch Off Animations

This tip would especially apply to all those who experience app lags especially when opening apps.
By simply turning off Animation, you could be sure of doing away with serious app lags or even a black screen. Let's understand how we could get this done, simply follow the steps listed below:

a. Look for Settings<Developer Options. Please note- If you cannot locate Developer Options under Settings, you would need to find your way to Settings<About<Software Information<Build Number (Tap Build number about 6-7 times)

b. If you've however got the developer option enabled, simply scroll below and look for Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale & Animator Animation Scale! Having done so, make sure to either switch off the scale or reduce it to 1X, like shown below

Setting<Developer Options<Window Animation Scale

2. Disable Auto-Sync

If you're not aware of automatic syncing of apps, here's something you may want to read up. Your apps are usually synced in automatically, what this does is- Drains your Battery, eats the CPU & RAM! Now this is something you may not want especially annoying notifications from Gmail, Facebook and others. To avoid this, all you would need to do is Disable Auto-Sync, let's see how we could go about doing it:

Settings<Account<Choose the App<Disable or Turn it off (Like shown in the image below)

3. Make use of the Auto-Start Manager App

Frequently spoken about, the Auto-Start Manager would help reduce battery drain. If you wish to see your phone perform better or even stay away from quick battery drains, this app should do you good. All you've got to do is deny the working of certain apps:

What the Auto-Start Manager helps with:

a. Manages Auto-Start Apps
b. Frees Up Memory
c. Improves System Performance
d. Saves Power
e. Keeps Away System Lag

4. SD Card

We would recommend our End Users to make use of good quality and high spped SD Cards. Why? Because a poor quality or low speed SD Card would eventually slow down your Zenfone. To be specific, you could make use of a Class 10 SD Card. In doing so, it is important that you Scan your card regularly to keep away from a possible virus that could also cause your device to work slow.

If you're not sure about Class 10 or what it is, let me help you with that:

Usually meant for high resolution images or HD Videos, a Class 10 SD Card could be seen as a high sped SD Card. You could also opt for low speed SD Cards, but that would only slow down the phone.
Most SD Cards display the Speed number on the Card itself, make sure to look out for the same!

5. Uninstall Unused Apps

Chances are that you've downloaded tons of apps and forgotten about it. You may want to stop what you're doing right away and take some time to clear off unwanted apps, those you barely use! They could as well be the reason to a slow working phone.

Here's how you uninstall an app:

Settings<Apps<Choose the App<Uninstall

6. Avoid Live Wallpapers

Live Wallpapers sure look pretty, although, you may want to understand that they are huge consumers. Consuming a minimum of 6-15% CPU and 10-20MB of RAM, we would like to advise one and all to stick to static wallpapers.

7. Tips to Keep in Mind
Even while the above listed points are crucial, make sure to keep the below listed tips in mind as well! We assure you that they would come in use, at some point or the other

a. Avoid Heavy Apps
b. Clear Cache
c. Update System Regularly
d. Delete files, images or Videos
e. or transfer them to Cloud platforms
f. Restart your Zenfone every alternate day, this helps delete junk!

Please stop posting the same thing over and over again. I agree that you are desperately waiting for Marshmallow update and so are we. I also agree that there has been a delay from Asus' side in providing the updates. However, spamming ain't gonna help. Just have patience, that's all I can say.
