No GPS fix on Padfone A86 WW_12.4.0.72

I guess other people are in our case with a GPS is not working !

Nobody has found solution? ............................

I've tried each firmware since the 11.2.5.20 but no one is working. The GPS is still not fix. That's really annoying especially for that kind of phone which is quite expensive.. I hope Asus is gonna do something! We deserve it!

I reported it to ASUS Netherlands and they send it to the main office in taiwan. The response of the main office was that they didn't know of this problem and that they haven't had any complaints. So i request that everybody with this problem contact Asus support and let them inform the main office.

The main office in taiwan asked me to make a log on my phone about this problem and send it to them as they can do nothing without this log.

Will be continued.

I have sent a message to Asus France. Let's see. 


You're right about the fact that everyone who's having the same problem should write something to Asus! If it's really linked to the firmware they can do something.. I hope so!

I have a working GPS now. Well it's working but not great, it takes a long time to get a fix and it loses the signal several times but it is working better than before.

What did i do?

First downgrade to Android 4,4,2

Download GPS locker and try to get a fix: force update a-GPS data. Let the app get a fix.

Wipe internal Cache: turn the phone off than turn on and hold volume down to get in the update menu. Choose wipe cache and reboot.

Than update directly to the latest firmware Android 5.

Turn on GPS locker app and let the app get a fix, the first time it may take several minutes. in my case it took about 20 minutes.

After the app gets a fix, reboot the phone.

Now if you have to navigate or use GPS, first turn on GPS locker and than the app you need for your purpose.

In my case the second time after i got my first fix, it took only 5 minutes to get a GPS fix.

In a 20 minutes drive maps lost the signal 5 times but also finds it again in several seconds.

It is not the best solution but until Asus finds a real solution it is workable.
Today with GPS locker i had a fix with 10 sattelites in 1 minute.

Asus send me a logtool to see what the problem may be.

I have send them the log and now it is waiting if they can see what the problem is and come up with a solution.

Since i did a downgrade and a update i can get  a stable signal if it is not too cloudy, but when the weather is bad the signal is also bad.

I hope they come with a solution.

If they do i will post it here.
