In this post I'll tell you the steps to update your 2nd Gen Zenfone manually to Android 6.0 Marshmallow
Before diving into this process, be sure to check [Settings]->[About]->[System Update], to ensure FOTA update is available or Not, for your device. In case FOTA is available, you can directly download the update from there.
If FOTA is Not available, you can update your phone Manually by following the Instructions below:
Recommended Tasks Before The Upgrade
1. Backup Your Phones Data To Your PC or To Another Phone 2. Make Sure That, You Are On The Latest Lollipop Firmware 3. Factory Reset You Device 4. Charge Your Phone To 100%
Steps To Download the Marshmallow Firmware
2. Search with your Device Name ( For example: Zenfone Zoom ZX551ML ) 3. Select "Driver & Tools" 4. Select OS: "Android" 5. Click On "Firmware" 6. Find the Marshmallow ROM ( with the correct SKU ) for Your Device & Click On "Global" to Start Downloading
If you can't understand the point number '6', check the image below for example,
Steps To Install The Marshmallow Firmware

3. You Will Get A Notification : "System Update File Detected" .
Install It By Pressing "OK" ( Restart Your Phone If The Notification Is Not Received ).
