Always on display for Zenfone 3?

First of all hats off to Asus for creating the Zenfone 3. It's a great device and I am loving it. Every thing is great about the device. I just wanted Asus to add the 'always-on display' feature on the Zenfone 3, just like it is present on the Zenfone 3 Deluxe. Hoping that Asus will implement this feature.

I'd love to be able to change what notifications show up on the "always-on" screen. EG, I don't care about SMS, I'd rather whatsapp and/or hangouts.

ZenFone 3 is a beast, it has everything but we need only 1 update that's the " always on display " and then the phone is fab !!  
I wish ASUS will do this asap. 

An always-on display is only practical on an AMOLED screen (like the Deluxe has), where only the pixels needed to display the needed graphics, i.e. the clock and any notifications, would be lit up. The impact on battery life would be fairly negligible. On a backlit LCD or IPS screen, like on our Zenfone 3, the entire display would have to be illuminated to keep the standby info visible, and that would drain the battery greatly.
