Please help me choose for CPU on new ZenPad

I am ready to purchase a new tablet as my Nexus 7(2013) needs an upgrade and I ned to have a tablet that allows for a SD card.
I am thinking about either a ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) or the ZenPad Z500M(9.7").
Can someone please give me an explaination on the CPU differences?
The ZenPad S 8.0 (Z580CA) has Intel® Atom™ Z3580 processor* (quad-core, 64-bit) and has 4GB RAM.
The ZenPad Z500M has MTK MT8176 Dual-Core 2.1 GHz +Quad-Core 1.7 GHz , 64bit 4GB Ram

I am not familiar with a CPU that has a  Dual-Core  at 2.1 AND a Quad-core at 1.7
While the other has a Quad-core alone at 2.33.
Which is superior??
If you think that in general there is a better choice for me, please let me know that as well.

I would pick the Z500M as it is a newer model, has a bigger display, bigger battery and it supports the aptX codec for Bluetooth audio.

Hmmm, What are you trying to say, I have looked at the specs over and over and I am a IT professional. Obviously my question is not answered in the specs guide.
