The Zenfone 3 lineup was officially launched last August 14, 2016 at the Zenvolution Event which was held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza. ASUS has introduced the Zenfone 3 Max, Zenfone 3 Laser, Zenfone 3 – which comes in two variants: 5.2" and the 5.5". It was also then that the Zenfone 3 Ultra and the Zenfone 3 Deluxe was introduced. Along with the announcement of the initial lineup also came with their official SRP’s for the Philippine market.

It was just recently that I have had the chance to test out the smaller version of the Zenfone 3 basemodel, the Zenfone 3 5.2 ZE520KL.
For the unboxing, you can check out the unboxing done by our Community Head Admin of the Zenfone Support Groups, Renz Belostrino, here: https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-118662-1-1.html.
For the full the full specs click here https://www.asus.com/ph/Phone/ZenFone-3-ZE520KL/Tech-Specs/.

For a causal user, a smartphone with a good battery life would be one of the most, if the most important factor of buying a new smartphone.
He/she may usually be doing some calling and texting, checking his/her social media from time to time, plus a little bit of listening to music, watching movies, and playing a few minutes ofhis/her favorite game on the side.

So I came up with the idea of “User-Centric” Test and see how the Zenfone 3 5.2 will perform.
I have made it a requirement that I start all my tests with a 100% full battery and see how long it will last throughout the day and/or how long it will stand before going to 15% battery life (my personal preference.)

For a Casual User:
Settings
Data: ON
Brightness: AUTO
Location: OFF
Audio Wizard: SMART

Volume: DEFAULT

Verdict:

For a casual user that mainly uses her smartphone to make calls and send text messages as well as connect to social media, Zenfone 3 can get you through the day with a breeze.

For a Music Lover:
Settings
Data: OFF
Brightness: MAX
Location: OFF
Audio Wizard: MUSIC
Volume: MAX

App Used: GOOGLE PLAYMUSIC

Verdict:
For the music lover that would probably want to listen all day to all his/her favorite tracks or playlist, he/she may get a decent estimated time of 8hrs.

For a Movie Addict:
Settings
Data: OFF
Brightness: MAX
Location: OFF
Audio Wizard: MOVIE
Volume: MAX

App Used: VLC PLAYER

Verdict:

For the movie addicts, from a full 100% down to 15% battery consumption, I was able to finish almost 4 movies in about 6 hours. Not bad, eh?!

For a Gamer:
Settings
Data: ON
Brightness: AUTO
Location: OFF
Audio Wizard: GAMING
Volume: DEFAULT

App Used: KRITIKA: The White Knights

Screenshot_20161127-113342.jpg Screenshot_20161127-113616.jpg

Verdict:
As for the gamers, I had a better experience with the Zenfone 3 5.2 as compared to my previous Zenfone 5.
Before, I was able to play Kritika for about 2hrs max at high setting and all music and sfx are turned (see image of comparison).
With the Zenfone 3 5.2, 2hrs of continuous play will not be a problem anymore and that means more time to grind!! Yey!!

Conclusion:
Depending on your usage and phone settings, the longevity of your smartphone varies from a person’s usage.
Some may get longer battery life while some may get shorter ones.
Again, the test I made was just a picture of a “uni”-tasking individual.

And that concludes my “User-Centric” Zenfone 3 5.2 Stress Test.
Feel free to post down below your comments, suggestion, reaction, and whatever comes to your mind.
Until then, ZenFans!

Wow! This is one of the great reviews I have read so far. Why? Not too technical yet at the same time giving the people a glimpse of what Zf3 can offer or how it will last based on what kind the user is. This surely helps how you will maximize your zenfone 3 knowing its user-centric stress management. Must read.
