Description: What happens is this:

In Zenfone 3 Laser I have a NOS and Vodafone SIM card, the day I put the two cards, everything worked, But the next day I was without Signal in one of them (in the one that was not the preferred one).

Regardless of the slot in which they are, if one is selected as Preferred The Other is Literally without Signal, the SIM preferred (that works well) is with 2g / 3g / 4g and the Other SIM only with 2g and without Signal.

I already had other smartphones Dual SIM and this never happened to me, I already tried other SIM cards and the same happens, I also tried it on another zenfone 3 laser and work, but after i restart the phone the problem happens.

I have already tried the SIM cards in another Dual Sim smartphones(Samsung) and everything works very well, so it will be from Asus.

In short, I'm forced to choose a preferred SIM card, but the other one is without a Signal.

I already do a factory reset and the problem remains..

Anyone know what's going on?

Thank You

I asked same question earlier and ASUS didn't give me an answer. After digging some more information, it seems that no matter you are using 4G data or not, the non-preferred SIM can only support 2G signal. Even if you turn off the other SIM completely. If the phone company stop supporting 2G (Unfortunately, in US, AT&T stopped all their 2G services starting 2017), there will be no signal for the non-preferred SIM at all.

you HAVE to set the SIM to preferred data (on/off for data service doesn't matter) to be able to get voice signal over their LTE network.

Conclusion... either manually switch the setting everytime, or just pretend you bought a phone with only one SIM slot and one microSD slot.

Thank You.

Basically Dual SIM only the name, because the function does not work, I will return the phone, misleading advertising

If you could still return, that may be a good idea. I already passed the last return date.

Hello sergio.queijo
We have state this specfication in our website
Both SIM card slots support 3G WCDMA / 4G LTE network band. But only one SIM card can connect to 3G WCDMA / 4G LTE service at a time. If both of your operators does not support 2G network, Only the perferred SIM card would have reception from 3G/4G network, thank you

That would be true, but unfortunately it's an asus problem, because I tested both SIM cards on a Huawei P9 Lite and it WORKED FINE, and it was all tested in the same city, so it's not the carrier's problem. After testing on huawei p9 lite, I put the SIM cards in the asus zenfone 3 laser and it does not work. I repeat that the same SIM cards were used in the tests and always in the same city. So stop blame the operator, because the problem is yours, I tried another asus zenfone 3 laser and it happens the same. There are a big problem with zenfone 3 laser.
