Over the last 3 Zenfone generations, I have always been stumbling to this question “Should you leave your phone plugged into the charger overnight?”
Honestly, our smartphones have already a feature that automatically stops charging onceit is fully charged. “Leaving your phone plugged in overnight is okay to do, it will not drastically harm your device,” says Shane Broesky, co-founder of Farbe Technik, a company that makes charging accessories. “Your phone is very smart. Once it’s fully charged, it knows when to stop the current from coming in to protect your phone from overcharging.”* But i won't be talking about that though.
So to those who are always conscious about their Zenfone about getting overcharged, even if it won’t (just like what we I’ve said earlier), I will be sharing this app that I am using since my Zenfone 5 days and it is really a great help for me
Full Battery & Theft Alarm.
FullBattery&TheftAlarm.JPG

By clicking its icon will prompt you how much battery you have left (centerimage), your phones temperature (lower left side below the battery level),estimated time your phone can go before draining out (lower center below thebattery level), and battery health (lower right side below the battery level). At the lower part, you can see the Charge Alarm and Theft Alarm icons.

Tapping on the 3 horizontal lines will bring you to the Settings, How to use, and About.

Tap on Sound to set your sound settings and other related stuff.

There are a lot of Alarm Sounds to choose from so choose what you want from the default options or you can also choose other tones (see image below)

The Extra Time Option opts your alarm to either alarm your battery level immediately after it reached your preferd setting or to delay it for a few minutes.

You can also set alarms for your Smartwatch, which I haven’t tried since I don’t have one. *sniff sniff*

And the Volume Level is found right here.

Plug-In and Un-Plug settings is also available. Cool right?!

You can also set the notifications by tapping on Notification bar while tapping on Other will let you choose the temperature unit you would want, either on Celsius or in Fahrenheit.

To avoid overcharging, or if that what you still believe, tap on the Full Battery Level to set the alarm on your preferred battery level percentage or just select on what battery percentage you want the alarm to be set. The only thing that confuses me with this is the difference of the 100% (default) and the Actual full battery options. But I’m setting my alarm to the later anyways.

And for those who are always afraid for their Zenfones to run out of battery, you can also set alarm to which battery level you would want to charge up yourphone. Pretty sweet feature, right?! *wink wink*

And for those heavy gamers, there is also a feature that would prevent you from playing too much…or just before your Zenfone blows up because of too much heat..just kidding. Battery Temperature Warning Level would indicateif your phone is getting too hot. Or maybe this feature would just say “Hey dude! Slow down, will ya?! You’re burning me up already!” LOL

The Auto Enable Theft Alarm is pretty much also the same as the security though Ihonestly haven’t tried that one.

So after you have set your desired preferences from the above mentioned configurations, all you have to do now is to drain up your juice and let the app work for you. To show you how the alarm works, see image below for reference. I intentionally played this one until the alarm notifies.

You know now that the app works. Great! Now charge up your Zenfone either to yourpowerbank (I’m using Zenpower Ultra as my main powerbank and Zenpower as mybackup) or to any wall socket near you. The app will now show you this:

The charging icon is located on the top left side, the center image shows your current battery level/percentage, your phones temperature (lower left side below thebattery level), estimated time your phone can be fully charged - according to your settings of course (lower center below the battery level), and battery health (lower right side below the battery level).

And this is how it looks like when you have reached your alarm for full battery (mine is at Actual Full Battery)

So there you have it. The ever reliable app Full battery & Theft Alarm that I'm using. For those who haven't tried this, you can freely download this from the Google Playstore (link provided below). And for those who have and are already using this app, share us your thoughts on this.

P.S.
This is also the app I used on my previous article Zenfone 3 5.2 ZE520KL Stress Test https://www.asus.com/zentalk/ph/thread-119639-1-1.html

I do recommend this app. Used this before when I was still using my ZenFone 2 base model. I'm not sure if I'll use this app again for my Zoom though. The alarm gives me regular heart attacks
