My screen pattern lock seems to have changed without my knowledge. It is somehow different from the pattern lock I set originally, which actually still works to unlock the phone on startup. How can there be two separate patterns? |

My screen lock pattern suddenly changed without my knowledge or authorization. Since no one else has access to my phone, i think it might be a glitch. I attempted to change the pattern lock back to the pattern i always use, and was unable to. Asus customer service advised me to hard reset. Unfortunately, i had to get off the phone before i could have him walk me through the reset.
Later on my own, i attempted the reset. i discovered i was unable to set up fingerprint authentication without the pattern or a pin, so i tried to set it up with a pin, and received the error "unfortunately, settings has stopped." After this it would request a pin in order to change/set up authentication, and the pin i enter is invalid!
What is wrong? How can there be two pattern locks- one valid only for start up but not screen lock? How can i fully wipe this phone to set up authentication again without errors? |
