Dear bill2_chang_ASUS,
I own an ASUS ZenWatch2 WI501Q and I currently refrain from using it, because of a big mistake I did: I installed the Android Wear 2.0 update OTA before reading the comments in this forum. The watch is UNUSABLE right now.
Since I am working as product manager dealing with software-centric products in a large German company I feel myself worthy of giving you the following tips:
1. Do not push forward Google of being the root cause for the AW2 update's problems. Even though this might be true to some extent - don't do it. This is not professional.
2. Try to fix as many bugs as possible - on your own! I am pretty sure that a large extent of problems has the root cause 'ASUS'. Try to focus on these bugs first.
3. Increase your bug fix release cycles. Do not wait for the 'ultimate build' fixing everything - like you probably did with the AW2 release. There is no such thing. Rather release a bug fix version on a monthly basis. This could include Google's monthly security bulletin plus fixes for just a few of your 'homegrown' bugs. Your customers are pissed of - seriously. Showing that you are really working on the topic by releasing something on a monthly basis will definitely restore customer's faith.
4. If ASUS is planning to pull out from the smartwatch business - so be it. But please provide the source code of the smartwatches as open source afterwards. So the community can at least get the chance to take a shot at solving the problems - on their own.
Best regards,
bmv
