are root and custom roms have problems  or they harm my device??

Hey Buddy could you please mention model no. of your Device.
You're using Asus ZenFone 2 Laser, but which one ZenFone 2 Laser 1080P or 720P?
Your Model no. would be something Like this :- A400CG or ZE550KL.
Once I get your Model No. I'll provide you the method and sources for all Custom Roms available for your Device.

First of all, You need to download these :-

Bootloader Unlocking App

Twrp Recovery

Lineage OS :-
Link : https://download.lineageos.org/Z00L


Gapps Package :-
Link : opengapps.org
(Note :- Download Nano Package, it'll save your Internal Storage)


Now that you have all of the above mentioned items, Follow these Instructions.
1. Unlock Your Bootloader with the Unlocking App.
2. Now, Flash the TWRP Recovery.
    (Follow the Instructions on TWRP's website for Flashing!)
3. After Flashing TWRP Recovery Boot into it using these Key Combinations : Power + Volume Down or
                                                                                                              Power + Volume up

4. Now make a System Backup using the Recovery, and transfer it in your PC for Worst Cases!!
5. Wipe System, Boot, User Data, Cache/Dalvik Cache.
6. Now, connect your device with your PC and transfer Gapps Package and Linegae OS Build onto your device.
    (Do not turn off your device, the device should be booted in TWRP Recovery!!)
7. Flash, Lineage OS(First) and then the Gapps Package(Second).
8. Perform a Factory Reset.
9. Wipe Cache/Dalvik Cache.
10. Reboot.
And You're Done.
