i dont find any useful application of the feature you requested, won't it be strange, sitting among lots of people and shouting photo.
it would be better if a key shortcut is given like double tap recent key to open camera
Arent you ok with the gesture features. Just a simple thing to do. I guess you're not trying to make your phone a iron man assistant JARVIS. Its a phone dude and buttons are given to use them and not to see them.
I already can start the camera of my Zenfone 2 by voice command and take a shot with just a slight move of my wrist.
But most times I use the "C"-Gesture to open the camera. It's faster because it works without unlock/wake up the phone before or take any other action to get ready to shoot a photo.

I meant to take a picture (frame) voice! There are times when it is inconvenient to hold the phone with one hand , and the other to press the "start"button. On the specifics of the work I have to take pictures in difficult conditions, where the phone you need to hold both hands!
Sometimes you need to take a picture without flash when lighting is poor. Phone need fix securely with two hands, otherwise the picture can become blurred.
Well Brother do keep patience because programming artificial intelligence commands into a software are not usually intended as features. Thus company does provides with alternatives. As for app to open you can use the gesture or voice command too. But for clicking a picture, i guess you didnt notice the volume change button. just click that button and you could take a pic. It has been given as a multi functional button for various purposes. So do explore this too because this feature was added for single hand operation as you required. So do explore more functions. Zenfone is will of them. I hope you are now satisfied with the answer.
yes i have the same. It just depends on the way you hold your phone. Dont just hold it with edges while hold it with your finger at the back. it will not only let you use the feature but also help you get a firm grip on the phone.
