Troubleshooting - Wi-Fi Connection Failure During Initial Setup (OOBE)
Symptom
During the initial Out-Of-Box Experience (OOBE) setup, the device may fail to connect to a wireless network via a standard router, preventing you from completing the setup process.

Root Cause
ASUS has identified that this is caused by a temporary service instability with Canonical’s connectivity-check server (connectivity.ubuntu.com). The system relies on this service to verify internet access during the initial setup. If the server experiences degradation, the system may incorrectly report a network failure.
Workaround & Solutions
To bypass this temporary external issue and complete your device setup, please try one of the following methods:
- Method 1: Connect to a Mobile Hotspot (Recommended) Temporarily connect your GX10 device to your smartphone's mobile Wi-Fi hotspot to finish the OOBE setup process.
- Method 2: Try an Alternative Network If available, connect to a different active Wi-Fi network to establish internet access.
- Method 3: Use a Wired Ethernet (LAN) Connection By plugging in the LAN cable before booting, the system will automatically prioritize the wired connection for system updating without prompting Wi Fi settings. Additional Information
This is a temporary issue related to Canonical's service availability. For more technical details and status updates, please refer to the Official Ubuntu Forum Notice.
