[NUC] NUC is Not Running as Intended
Resolution
Basic troubleshooting tips to improve performance:
- Check for the latest Windows updates.
- Install the latest drivers.
- Options:
- Use Driver & Support Assistant ( DSA) to scan the computer for the latest drivers available.
- Search and download an drivers from Download Center.
- Options:
- Revert BIOS to default values:
- Press F2 during boot to enter BIOS Setup.
- Press F9 to set defaults.
- Press F10 to save and exit BIOS.
- Ensure RAM is compatible.
- Visit System Memory Information for specs
- Test RAM using test program like Memtest86+*
- Upgrade BIOS using BIOS Update Instructions for NUC.
- Test the NUC's processor using Processor Diagnostic Tool.
- The purpose of the Processor Diagnostic Tool is to verify the functionality of an microprocessor. The diagnostic tool checks for brand identification, verifies the processor operating frequency, tests specific processor features, and performs a stress test on the processor.
- Check for Hard drive errors:
- Contact the hard drive manufacturer for instructions
- Update HD/SSD firmware from manufacture's website
- Revert Operating System to previous restore point using Refresh/Reset/Restore option in Windows*.
